The Role

Job Description

For this role we are looking for candidates with relevant experience in Product\Indsutrial Design.

Just imagine a world where every detail is brought to life with creativity and precision.

Join Our Creative Community as a LEGO Product Designer and be the heart and soul of this world, crafting innovative designs that captivate millions of fans worldwide.

Your imagination and passion will transform LEGO bricks into extraordinary experiences for enthusiasts.

In this role your focus will be on complex, display-worthy models within our Adults franchises, that include playful aspects and unique functionalities for themes like LEGO Icons & Architecture, LEGO Art & Botanicals and LEGO Ideas.

Now, what do we mean with “functionalities” for this specific role?

We are looking for a product designer who has experience with the LEGO System as well as using elements from LEGO Technic. You should be able to add hidden functions to bring fun, surprise, and that wow factor to highly refined models for the adult audience, who love intricate features.

Core Responsibilities

As a LEGO Product Designer with a special curiosity about functions, you'll:

  • Bring Ideas to Life: Use your design skills to create models that resonate with LEGO enthusiasts. From concept to shelf, you'll ensure every detail is magnificent.
  • Understand the System: Your deep knowledge of the LEGO System in Play will guide you in making the most out of every brick to make the model come to life by implementing fun functions.
  • Use your passion for a bit of LEGO Technic in a model to incorporate functions into the models – a good example of this would be a product such as LEGO Icons Retro Radio.
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work with a diverse team of nearly 600 creatives. Our collaborative environment thrives on innovation and the joy of exploration.
  • Maintain Playability: Ensure our products are not just visually stunning but also functional and engaging, interpreting Design Briefs with precision and creativity.

Play your part in our team succeeding

Based in Billund, Denmark, our team is a diverse collective of nearly 600 creative minds. We work together to create iconic LEGO experiences that inspire joy and creativity worldwide. We thrive with the challenge of innovating within guidelines and constraints, fostering an environment where every idea is valued.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Inclusive Environment: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all voices are heard.
  • Support and Growth: We offer mentorship, career development opportunities, and a supportive network to help you thrive.
  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a balanced work-life environment in the beautiful town of Billund, Denmark.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Design Expertise: A strong background in design, whether you’re a 3D artist, sculptor, character designer, an architect, or maybe automotive designer. Your unique insights will bring life to models such as vehicles, buildings, creatures, and characters that are loved by millions.
  • LEGO Experience: Understanding of the LEGO System in Play is essential: We’re looking for candidates with great functional skills – experience with using LEGO Technic as part of your designs is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of programs like Studio, Rhino or similar is a plus.
  • Passion and Attitude: A true love for the brick and a collaborative spirit. You’ll need the enthusiasm to inspire and be inspired by our community.
  • You’ll be partnering up with collaborators and colleagues cross teams to give maximum support to the right products across our Adults’ franchises
