Your mission is to bridge the gap between a digital storefront and the physical warmth of a dining room, building products that turn first-time diners into lifelong regulars.

Working within the Digital Storefront and Marketing team, you will partner with research, engineering, and product peers to transform raw data and restaurant pain points into seamless, innovative experiences. You’ll dive deep into the high-pressure world of hospitality to understand the "why" behind every guest interaction, using your design superpowers to create tools that become essential to a restaurant's survival and growth.

A day in the life (Responsibilities) 

• Own and drive the end-to-end design process for product features within the Guest org, moving from initial discovery through high-fidelity execution with strong autonomy.
• Use data and research to substantiate your design decisions. You’ll be responsible for translating guest analytics, research, and restaurant feedback into a rigorous methodology that informs the user journey.
• Deliver polished, high-fidelity artifacts that account for complex restaurant constraints. You will utilize and contribute to the Toast design system, ensuring your work is scalable and technically sound.
• Act as a dependable partner to your Product and Engineering counterparts. You’ll make your work visible early and often, using storytelling to build alignment and ensure technical feasibility.
• Be the voice of the customer in every room. You will break down complex workflows, like online ordering or loyalty sign-ups, into intuitive, delightful experiences that feel like true hospitality.
• Help raise the collective bar by participating in design crits, sharing best practices, and helping to foster a growth mindset where feedback is a gift.
• Integrate emerging AI-first tools and methodologies into your daily practice to accelerate ideation, streamline design production, and increase overall team velocity.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

• You have a demonstrated ability to use data and insights, including business metrics and user research, to substantiate design decisions and drive impact.
• You hold a high bar for design excellence. Your portfolio shows a disciplined process that accounts for fine details, edge cases, and complex, real-world constraints.
• You are innately collaborative and actively manage stakeholders. Your collaborative style inspires others, and you build the dependability needed to enact influence with cross-functional partners.
• You excel at untangling ambiguity, breaking down complex workflows into intuitive, end-to-end user journeys.
• 3+ years in product design, showing a clear progression from executing tasks to owning broader product outcomes and strategy.
