Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide project leadership on new process development projects
- Fabricate prototypes and characterize mechanical, electrical, and acoustic properties
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop improved processes and materials
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to develop and maintain technology roadmap
- Lead the application and training of Six Sigma methodologies
- Establish design and processes requirements to improve yield, performance, and reliability
- Perform design verification to demonstrate new processes meet requirements
- Support design transfer through process documentation, specifications, and technical support
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineer to assess the process change and solve IB problems
Required Qualifications
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical/Materials Engineering, Bioengineering, Manufacturing Engineering or comparable engineering field.
- At least three years of experience in the industrial process sector such as ultrasound transducers, MEMS, micro mechanics or equivalent (preferably medical products) or in a laboratory related to these activities with direct responsibility for design and development of processes, and materials.
- Excellent level in chemistry (gluing, polymers, surface preparation, plasma, ...), and mechanics (micro-assembly mechanics, dicing of ceramic or semiconductor substrates using dicing saw) and / or knowledge theory of adhesives (epoxy, cyanoacrylate) and additive industrial processes.
- Knowledge of CAD software (PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Autocad) is desired.
- Knowledgeable in using lab equipment to test physical or mechanical properties of materials for building transducers.
- Strong analytical and empirical skills to solve difficult problems including proficiency with Design of Experiments and Statistical Process Control methodology.
- Creativity in defining new processes and successfully implementing them.
- Experience in the design of ultrasound transducers is a plus
- Be able to communicate with cross-functional team members in English.
