We are seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure Services organization within Intune, to build cloud services that operate at high scale and availability, with opportunities for technical leadership. As a senior member of our team, you will , shape technical strategy, lead the design, development, and deployment of highly scalable and reliable software components, drive technical strategy, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions for Intune’s core infrastructure.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Build strong relationships with internal partners and stakeholders, understanding their requirements to deliver impactful design solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, program managers, and cross-org partners to develop designs leveraging existing solutions and best practices from scalable cloud services.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive insights to ensure roadmap alignment.
- Clearly articulate design objectives, rationale, and options for continuous improvement. Investigate technical issues to find practical solutions for complex design challenges.
- Conduct technical and comparative analysis to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, or JavaScript
- OR equivalent experience
Other:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft background and Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, or JavaScript, OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, or JavaScript
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a Software Architect role.
- Proven experience working with geographically distributed teams to deliver shared objectives and successful outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts across teams and disciplines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a structured and systematic approach to software design, architecture, and development.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $142,800 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
