This Principal/Senior Principal Electronics Engineer position requires hands-on experience troubleshooting complex systems, experience working with Test and Measurement equipment, and internal/external cross-functional coordination.

Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and supporting automated factory processes and tools to support Mission Security products
  • Processing inbound product returns/RMRs for analysis
  • Design and support of flexible Hardware & Software test solutions for digital and RF products
  • Troubleshooting deliverable hardware and proposing rework
  • Vendor and manufacturing follow in support of new test equipment

This position is contingent upon the candidates having a current Active government Secret Clearance, and the ability to achieve a SAP Clearance.

Basic Qualifications for the Principal Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 5 years’ experience, Master's degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience, Ph.D. degree in STEM with 0 years’ experience. An additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Current, Active government Secret Clearance
  • Experience in a technical leadership role
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
  • Familiarity with test requirements definition, procedures or design
  • Experience in text-based programming (e.g. C /C++)
  • Experience with test & measurement equipment
  • Comfortable performing hands-on troubleshooting of electrical hardware

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8 years’ experience, Master's degree in STEM with 6 years’ experience, Ph.D. degree in STEM with 3 years’ experience. An additional 4 years’ experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.

  • Experience in a technical leadership role
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • The ability to read and interpret specifications, schematics and block diagrams
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and guidance
  • Familiarity with test requirements definition, procedures or design
  • Experience in text-based programming (e.g. C /C++)

  • Effective verbal and written communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline

  • Experience with schematic design tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Zuken, etc.)
  • Experience with Embedded Software development

Primary Level Salary Range: $108,800.00 - $163,200.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
