We are seeking an experienced Principal Information Security Customer Engagement Engineer to represent our team across Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong.
Based in Sydney or Melbourne, this is a unique opportunity to become the senior security voice in the region, working directly with enterprise customers, collaborating with global security and product teams, and shaping how security enables business growth. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will own customer security engagements end-to-end, provide expert guidance on our products and security practices, and help reduce security-related friction throughout the sales cycle.

As the Principal Information Security Customer Engagement Engineer, you will:
- Own the information security narrative for the region, acting as the senior escalation point for complex customer security matters and representing the voice of the customer within the global security organisation.
- Serve as the sole in-region Information Security Customer Engagement resource, partnering closely with sales, go-to-market and product management teams.
- Lead customer security engagement calls and complete security questionnaires, providing timely expert support that helps win and retain business.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards across all customer interactions, ensuring trust, transparency and clarity.
- Curate and maintain local Trust Center content and customer-facing security materials, ensuring information remains accurate and accessible.
- Collaborate with Product Management to bring relevant security capabilities into the product roadmap, helping reduce the volume and complexity of customer security reviews.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement initiatives across security engagement activities, including the growing use of AI to support security questionnaire responses.
- Support additional business engagement and compliance activities as required, reflecting the broad scope of this regional role.
A deep, hands-on understanding of information security principles, control frameworks and regulatory requirements. You are comfortable engaging directly with customer security, legal and procurement teams and can confidently discuss complex security topics.
Customer Engagement ExperienceStrong experience managing customer security enquiries, including:
- Security questionnaires
- Customer engagement calls
- Trust Center management
- Customer-facing security documentation and brochures
- Security contract language reviews
Proven ability to operate autonomously as the sole information security customer engagement resource within a region, managing priorities and delivering outcomes with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Communication SkillsExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts clearly and build trust with customers and internal stakeholders.
AI FluencyExperience using AI tools to improve efficiency and automate workflows while applying sound judgement to security-related activities such as questionnaire responses and assurance processes.
Qualifications- 10+ years' experience in information security, including significant experience in customer-facing security assurance, GRC, or pre-sales security within a software or SaaS environment.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor are advantageous but not essential. Practical experience and expertise are highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of frameworks and regulations including:
- ISO/IEC 27001
- SOC 2
- GDPR
- Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
- New Zealand Privacy Act
- Familiarity with government assurance frameworks such as IRAP and NZISM will be highly regarded.
