The Senior Product Reliability Engineer will provide expertise in design for reliability, reliability test construction and execution, reliability test equipment, failure analysis and statistics for mechanical and electrical product reliability. The role takes part in new product introductions ensuring R&D uses best reliability design practices, and implement lessons learned from reliability growth to new designs. The engineer analyzes and organizes trend data and acts as product technical expert to a global team of technicians and quality engineers.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research on domestic and foreign environmental reliability standards, combined with product design and application requirements, guide environmental reliability design and testing
- Design product environmental reliability test scheme to verify product environmental adaptability and reliability level including accelerated life test
- Reliability prediction, life evaluation, FMEA analysis and other reliability work according to market demand
- Support for issues related to market and environmental adaptability
- Drives a team of technicians and engineers globally to effectively troubleshoot and analyze returned units to determine root cause
- Generates reports to internal teams and, at times, directly back to customers
- Gathers the failure trend data and suggests design or manufacturing corrective actions
- Works closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical expertise and guidance
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering product development, design, repair, or support experience
- Working knowledge in power/electrical engineering; three-phase AC and DC power, IGBTs, inverters, rectifiers, microprocessor and sensor interfacing, firmware interfacing, DC batteries, connectors/wire- harnesses
- Working knowledge in large and small scale cooling systems
- Strong ability to read and understand electrical schematics and PCBA layouts
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve and prevent a wide range of problems quickly and methodically
- Ability to operate in an electrical testing lab environment safely and successfully
- Must be comfortable interfacing with customer and at times traveling to sites to troubleshoot difficult or high-profile technical issues
- Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and operate in cross functional global development teams
