As a Principal Engineer, Environmental Engineering, you will provide leadership across major capital projects, including greenfield fabs, site expansions, and facility modernization efforts. You will partner with global team members to embed environmental requirements into early design decisions, reduce compliance risk, and drive environmental performance across air, water, and waste systems. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to influence global manufacturing investments while advancing innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead integration of environmental compliance requirements into facility design, construction, and startup activities for global capital projects
- Partner with Global EHSS, Facilities, and site teams to incorporate environmental requirements into engineering decisions and project execution
- Define and support implementation of environmental design standards, specifications, and best-known methods across facility systems
- Identify environmental compliance risks and drive multi-functional mitigation strategies related to permitting, operability, and system performance
- Apply lessons learned, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to continuously improve environmental design requirements and project outcomes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in environmental engineering, compliance, facilities engineering, or related industrial environments
- Experience supporting greenfield, expansion, or major infrastructure projects across environmental domains including air, water, and waste
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements
- Proven ability to collaborate and influence engineering, operational, and project partners within a matrixed organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Experience working with Facilities engineering subject areas in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or similar industries
- Knowledge of facility systems such as exhaust and abatement, ultrapure water, wastewater treatment, chemical distribution, or hazardous waste management
- Experience developing engineering standards, specifications, or environmental design requirements across multiple sites
- Experience using AI-enabled tools and analytics to improve engineering decision-making, compliance outcomes, and project execution efficiency

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in environmental engineering, compliance, or facilities within semiconductor, manufacturing, or related industries
- Experience interfacing with engineering design teams and influencing facility or infrastructure system design decisions
- Experience supporting greenfield or expansion projects with environmental requirements integration across air, water, and waste domains
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes
- Ability to work effectively across global teams and influence stakeholders in a matrixed organization
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Experience with Facilities engineering disciplines (mechanical, process utilities, or controls) in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing
- Familiarity with facility system design (exhaust/abatement, ultrapure water, wastewater, chemical distribution) and environmental performance drivers
- Familiarity with global environmental regulatory frameworks and multi-site compliance strategies
- Experience developing or applying engineering standards or design specifications
- Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
