Job Purpose and Impact
  • The Principal Application Developer- ERP provides cross‑functional/technical SAP ERP subject matter expertise across end‑to‑end business processes spanning sales, demand, production, supply and finance. The role requires strong technical and functional ERP experience to lead highly complex configuration, design, quality assurance, and production support to ensure stable reliable outcomes. The individual translates complex business requirements into effective technology‑enabled solutions, applying application architecture and integration principles. Success in this role requires the ability to guide business and DT&D stakeholders through highly complex situations using current standards, emerging technologies, and pragmatic judgment, supported by strong communication, consulting, influencing, and conflict management skills. The role operates effectively in ambiguous environments, manages competing priorities, and consistently upholds internal control and governance standards.

Key Accountabilities
    • APPLICATION CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT: Defines and executes highly complex application configuration strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives, architectural standards, and long-term platform stability.
    • APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT & DEPLOYMENT: Provides thought leadership and oversight for the design, configuration, quality assurance, and deployment of application enhancements ensuring stable, high-quality version releases.
    • USER COMMUNICATION & SUPPORT: Effectively facilitate discussions with stakeholders and leaders to drive out clear business requirements for complex, unclear, or large-scale business problems.
    • APPLICATION SUPPORT: Leads advanced, complex application support activities to ensure stable operations and delivery of critical business outcomes.
    • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Develop and maintain long term business and functional domain knowledge focusing on the key integration areas to facilitate solutioning and value creation
    • INCIDENT & REQUEST MANAGEMENT: Provides oversight of problem management, ensuring effective intake, prioritization, and resolution aligned to service level agreements, business criticality, and operational risk.
    • VENDOR MANAGEMENT: Establishes and sustains strategic partnerships with key software vendors to optimize value, performance, and long-term alignment with enterprise objectives.
    • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Provides oversight of application performance, delivering actionable insights and driving targeted improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall business effectiveness.
    • APPLICATION PROCESSES & PROCEDURES: Identifies, leads, and implements improvements to complex application management processes and procedures, strengthening operational stability, efficiency, and scalability across the enterprise.

Qualifications
  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.

Short Description
Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
The expected salary for this position is $160,000- $200,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
