Winston Benefits, a Brown & Brown company, is seeking a Premium Accountant to join our team! The Premium Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day servicing of specific client accounts including receipt, allocation and disbursement of premiums received and provide customer service as required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Responsible for the timely allocation of funds received and the reconciliation of accounts and reporting to various insurance carriers.
- Processes all types of maintenance and premium transactions related to billable policies including, but not limited to, terminations/cancellations, reversing and applying premium, issuing refunds, researching and resolving issues related to billing/ premium/ coverage discrepancies.
- Ensure files and premiums are received in a timely manner and match prior to reconciliation, according to company guidelines.
- Review and update weekly and/or monthly Census Files for all clients.
- After reconciliation, create appropriate reports for auditing purposes.
- Perform Policy Collection/ Preservation by sending out correspondence or calling insured’s for missed premium.
- Provide customer service for assigned accounts by assisting all departments with customer inquiries on Voluntary Benefits.
- Review and resolution of in-client records and take appropriate corrective actions as required.
- Analyze customer records and make any corrections and/or modifications within company guidelines.
- Attend all assigned account meetings specifically when preparing for an open enrollment or implementing a new client.
- Perform client and policy audits as required.
- Assist with special projects as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 1-3 years business experience in a corporate environment or a 4 year college degree.
- At least 1 year in industry-related Customer Service preferred.
- Associates degree in business or related course of study preferred.
- Above average knowledge of Microsoft Suite of programs and Outlook.
- Strong math/reconciliation skills.
- Good business skills.
- Good in-house systems skills
- Strong customer service skills.
- Flexibility with work hours and overtime.
- Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
- Strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to address difficult situations in a tactful, professional manner.
Pay Range
20 - 25 Hourly
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
