About this opportunity:
Supply site Tallinn Production Technology FA Equipment Development team is looking for a PLC Programmer to join their team. The core function of this role is to design, develop, test, and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) software that automates machinery and production lines. In this role you will have the opportunity to write and debug PLC code to control equipment, develop HMI applications, troubleshoot issues, and ensure systems operate efficiently and safely according to specifications and legal requirements.
What you will do:
• Program new machines and production lines using Siemens and B&R PLCs. • Develop and maintain HMI applications for production equipment. • Provide technical support and root cause analysis for automation equipment. • Collaborate on new equipment concepts and offer PLC technical consultations.• Test, verify, and commission control systems to ensure functionality and safety. • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.• Write and update documentation to ensure compliance with applicable directives. • Implement industrial communication protocols for PLC integration with MES/SCADA.
The skills you bring:
• Previous experience in PLC programming (Siemens, B&R) with IEC 61131-3 standard • Knowledge of OPC UA (custom data structures, server/client setup) • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics. • Solid understanding of automation and control system architecture, including safety circuits• Hands-on experience with RFID, HMI, Safety circuits, Motion, and Pneumatic systems.• Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues in production equipment. • Familiarity with SCADA systems (Ignition, WinCC). • Familiarity with PLC and robot integration (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, or similar) • Analytical mindset with focus on reliability and efficiency improvements. • Awareness of cybersecurity practices in industrial automation networks.• Fluent in English (speaking and writing) • Bachelor degree in Programming, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or a simlar degree or relevant work experience
Good to have:
• Experience with Git• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines for automation projects. • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker) for development/test environments. • Knowledge of Power BI for production dashboards and reporting. • Experience with Power Automate and Power Apps for workflow automation and shopfloor integration.
