As a digital Commerce Technology lead embedded within our Marketing, Sales & eCommerce Product Stream, you will support and drive the D2C platform in the UK&I Business Unit ensuring it delivers measurable value to the business and exceptional experiences to consumers.

Mondelēz International operates a Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) online shop in the UK, selling our iconic Cadbury brand directly to consumers. The D2C Platform Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery and operational excellence of this platform, driving future growth through technology enablement.
Embedded within the Marketing, Sales & eCommerce Product Stream and operating under the POET (Product-Centric Operating Model) construct, this role owns the platform roadmap, coordinates the platform team (internal and external), and connects Business teams and stakeholders in Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain and R&D with Mondelēz Digital Services (IT) and external delivery partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership & Value Delivery
  • Own the D2C platform roadmap, ticket and change backlog prioritisation, and delivery outcomes in collaboration with the Product Stream Lead and UK&I BU stakeholders
  • Define and track OKRs and KPIs aligned to the Product Stream and quarterly delivery commitments
  • Ensure platform services are optimized to meet consumer and business demands, monitoring platform performance and availability

Demand & Delivery Management
  • Shape, validate, and prioritize demand (epics and user stories) based on business value, technical feasibility, and capacity
  • Coordinate with Platform Engineers and external delivery partners to deliver incremental value through agile ceremonies
  • Participate in Product Council and Platform Council forums to align cross-platform dependencies and surface risks
  • Review business requirements for technical merit and feasibility, partnering with solution architects and platform experts to refine, and delivering implementation estimates

Architecture & Technical Direction
  • Partner with the Platform Architect to maintain the platform's technical direction, ensuring alignment with the Global MS&E Product Stream architecture vision
  • Oversee technical integrations (payment services, SAP, CRM/Consumer Data, web services, and content systems) ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture standards
  • Provide insight and guidance to business stakeholders demonstrating how technology solutions can be leveraged to meet eCommerce goals
  • Analyze, identify, research, and recommend technology solutions to meet business requirements and IT system standards

Security, Privacy & Compliance
  • Be the privacy, security and controls steward for all digital and eCommerce scope of the platform
  • Ensure vulnerabilities and incidents are identified, reported, and addressed with appropriate action plans in place, per company guidelines

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Develop strong partnerships with BU stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Quality) as the platform's primary point of engagement
  • Manage external delivery partner relationships, including vendor governance, performance management, and commercial oversight
  • Represent the platform at Quarterly Planning Meetings and escalate risks/dependencies as needed

Continuous Improvement & Operations
  • Monitor platform services in production, identify and resolve operational issues
  • Drive platform evolution by identifying technology opportunities, staying abreast of eCommerce trends, and surfacing these as backlog items
  • Ensure adherence to development standards, configuration governance, and Agile ways of working

What We're Looking For:
Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration or similar) or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in a Platform Manager, Technical Product Manager, or Product Owner role within a product-centric IT operating model
  • Substantial experience in the Digital/eCommerce space with strong understanding of D2C/B2C platforms and their ecosystems
  • Demonstrated ability to own a product/platform backlog, define OKRs, and drive delivery outcomes through Agile ceremonies
  • Experience managing external delivery partners and vendor relationships within a platform team context
  • Experience with technology solutions in supply chain, finance, consumer data, payment gateways, and marketing - especially linked to eCommerce
  • Very strong communicator and problem solver, with a collaborative can-do attitude to solving challenges
  • Comfortable influencing leadership, business and external partners, with excellent interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
  • High emotional intelligence to work effectively across diverse personalities, cultures, and organizations
  • Comfortable operating within governance frameworks (e.g., Product Councils, Platform Councils, Quarterly Planning)
  • Excellent written, verbal and framing skills
  • Curiosity and energy to continually learn new technologies, stay appraised of security and regulatory changes, and surface these as opportunities

Preferred:
  • Experience working within a product stream / platform line structure (or equivalent product-centric operating model)
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, headless commerce architectures)
  • Experience with SEO, PXM, Content Syndication, and eCommerce analytics
  • Consumer-Packaged Goods or Food industry experience
  • UK market experience
  • Agile delivery methods (Scrum, Kanban); Scrum Master or Product Owner certification is a plus
  • Preferred experience in D2C and/or B2B eCommerce
  • Hybrid model: 3 days per week in the office required

Reporting & Governance
  • Reports to: Product Stream Lead - Marketing, Sales & eCommerce (or Platform Line Lead)
  • Works within a Platform Team (cross-functional, 5-11 members)
  • Participates in: Product Council, Platform Council, Quarterly Planning, Technical Design Authority forums
