This is a hands-on role responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant payroll outcomes across both weekly and monthly payroll cycles. You'll have ownership of key payroll processes, work closely with employees, managers, HR and Finance, and play a critical role in ensuring our employees are paid correctly and on time.
Success in this role will come from your ability to balance competing priorities, maintain exceptional attention to detail, and confidently adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing.

- Process weekly payroll for approximately 160 New Zealand waged employees and monthly payroll for approximately 455 ANZ salaried employees.
- Manage payroll activities relating to employee commencements, remuneration changes, leave transactions and terminations.
- Support payroll compliance across ANZ, ensuring payroll processes align with relevant legislation, company policies and employment agreements.
- Manage multiple payroll inboxes, responding promptly and professionally to employee and manager enquiries.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring issues are addressed before payroll completion.
- Utilise Gensol, our payroll system, and Dimensions, our time and attendance system, to support payroll processing and workforce management activities. While experience with Dimensions is advantageous, previous Gensol experience is not required as full training will be provided.
- Prepare payroll reporting, support audits and maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Partner with stakeholders across HR, Finance and the broader business to deliver a positive payroll experience for employees.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy and service delivery.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Minimum 4 years' payroll experience with demonstrated end-to-end payroll processing responsibilities.
- Experience processing payroll for New Zealand employees is essential.
- Knowledge of Employment Agreements / Industrial Awards is highly regarded.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or FMCG environment will be highly regarded.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements and payroll best practice.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to think on your feet, solve problems and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to stakeholder support.
- Experience with Dimensions or similar time and attendance systems is advantageous.
About the team.
You'll join a collaborative and supportive ANZ Payroll team within our Finance function, reporting to the Payroll Manager ANZ and working alongside one other Payroll Officer.
The team is responsible for delivering payroll services across ANZ, ensuring employees receive accurate pay and a high level of service. We work closely together, share knowledge and provide support during critical payroll periods, creating a team environment where people can learn, contribute and succeed.
