Organic Certification Reviewer– Processing Activities
Position Purpose
The Organic Certification Reviewer – Processing Activities supports the Organic Certification Manager in the coordination, technical evaluation and supervision of organic certification processes related to processing, handling, packaging, storage, distribution and import/export of organic products, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848, its implementing acts, ESYD accreditation requirements, and the Certification Body’s Quality Management System.

Position Purpose
The Organic Certification Reviewer – Processing Activities supports the Organic Certification Manager in the coordination, technical evaluation and supervision of organic certification processes related to processing, handling, packaging, storage, distribution and import/export of organic products, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848, its implementing acts, ESYD accreditation requirements, and the Certification Body’s Quality Management System.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent technical evaluations of certification files.
- Verify compliance with EU and national legislation on organic production.
- Ensure the correct implementation of certification procedures and decision-making rules.
- Support internal audits and accreditation assessments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures and technical guidelines.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the Certification Body’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065.
- University degree in Agronomy, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific field.
- Basic to good knowledge of the organic production regulatory framework, preferably with focus on organic processing activities.
- Professional experience in certification, regulatory compliance, quality assurance or food processing (preferred).
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17065 and accreditation requirements (an asset).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Experience in a certification body or food processing sector.
- Exposure to certification decision processes and non-conformity management.
- Knowledge of additional standards (e.g. ISO 22000, BRC, IFS, private organic standards).
- Willingness to develop into a senior or managerial role.
- Attention to detail and strong sense of responsibility.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under supervision while taking initiative.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a highly regulated and audit-focused environment.
Reports to the Organic Certification Manager / Technical Director.
