What you'll do...
Senior Director II, Chief Creative
Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Creative Asset Development: Provides expert advice and guidance in the application of information and creative best practices. Identifies and pursues opportunities for strategic enhancements to creative systems and processes and defines creative best practices.
  • Creative Brief Review: Leverages knowledge of Walmart, as well as, internal and external marketing trends/experience to influence and/or constructively challenge creative briefs developed by Marketing Strategy and Planning, Customer Experience or E-Commerce Category Marketing. Maintains accountability for entire portfolio of creative briefs (past, in development and future/planned).
  • Brand Management: Oversees and develops visual branding and oversees development of related assets for all channels in collaboration with cross- functional creative leadership teams.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Shares and promotes innovative creative ideas and strategies based on knowledge of external market and other strategies within Walmart. Inspires and enables others to innovate and share ideas.
  • Project Management: Has full leadership responsibility for a business segment. Develops and drives the current and future strategy and goals for business segment may influence organizational strategy.
  • Budgets and Financial Management: Has final accountability of financial budget and primary accountability for the financial performance of the segment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborates with other Marketing groups (Advertising, Marketing Strategy and Planning, Customer Experience, Digital, etc.) and stakeholders outside of Marketing (e.g., Category Management) to develop creative content that is consistent with marketing's overall approach and vision.
  • People Development: Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance. Ensures associates are receiving learning and development opportunities (e.g. training, mentoring) for the good of the associate and Walmart. Mentors less experienced associates, managers and directors.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print.

Travel
Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.
Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites requiring consecutive overnight stays.
Entry Requirements
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field and 8 years' experience leading creative teams OR 10 years' experience leading creative teams.
  • 8 years' supervisory experience.


Preferred Qualifications
• 10 years' experience managing large scale interactive campaigns in an online creative or related digital field. • 8 years' experience managing cross-functional teams in a retail creative environment.• 8 years' experience managing budgets, including budget forecasting and reporting financials.• 8 years' experience managing brand initiatives for product launches.
• 8 years' experience managing vendor contracts and relationships.
• 8 years' experience working for or with creative agencies.
Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Design, Marketing, Creative Writing, Advertising, Fine Arts, or related field and 8 years' experience leading creative teams OR 10 years' experience leading creative teams.
8 years' supervisory experience.
