Overview:

The Operations Analyst shall assist the government in developing and analyzing organizational plans and metrics to identify, manage, and direct resources effectively. This role is focused on supporting the SOCOM Information Environment (SIE) mission strategies and priorities. The analyst will evaluate existing operational workflows and analyze IT industry’s best practices to identify strategic opportunities for improvement, ensuring the SIE remains competitive, agile, and aligned with mission objectives.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist government stakeholders in formulation, development, and strategic execution of organizational plans tailored to the SIE mission.
  • Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and organizational metrics to measure mission readiness and process efficiency.
  • Analyze data to help identify, manage, and direct human, technical, and financial resources toward high-priority mission initiatives.
  • Research and analyze emerging IT industry trends and best practices to evaluate their feasibility and integration potential within the current infrastructure.
  • Evaluate existing internal processes, pinpoint bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and recommend actionable improvement strategies to maintain competitive technical operations.
  • Collaborate with SIE leadership to deliver data-driven insights and presentations that inform strategic, operational, and tactical decision-making.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Business Administration, Operations Research, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a closely related analytical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in operations analysis, IT project coordination, or strategic planning, ideally within a federal government agency or defense technology environment supporting large-scale enterprise missions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency in developing organizational plans and aligning metrics with high-level mission strategies and priorities.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, enterprise environments, and current IT industry operational best practices.
  • Advanced ability to gather data, build operational metrics tracking models, and translate complex analytical findings into clear business insights.
  • Proven capability to assess "as-is" workflows, identify gaps, and design optimized "to-be" technical or operational processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to confidently brief government clients and senior technical leadership.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

  • ITIL, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma certifications are advantageous but not required


Security Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required security clearance/access approvals.
