Department Overview

The Operational Excellence team drives continuous improvement, process standardization, and innovation across Last Mile operations. We support local teams in implementing group standards, solving systemic challenges in routing, loading, and delivery, and enabling sustainable growth as we scale.

Role Overview

As Operational Excellence Manager for Last Mile, you will own the design and delivery of a 3 to 6 month continuous improvement roadmap for last mile operations. You will lead adoption of group standards, embed best practices, and deliver sustainable improvements in delivery efficiency, cost per order, and on-time performance. You will partner with central and local stakeholders to find the real bottlenecks in the last mile flow, from route assignment and loading through to the delivery itself, and roll out scalable solutions across sites.

What we expect from you
  • Owns the last mile improvement roadmap and makes sure initiatives are delivered on time.

  • Owns initiatives end to end, including group-wide projects: frames the problem, builds and defends the business case, runs the pilot, measures and evaluates the impact, and scales what works across sites.

  • Leads adoption of operational best practices in loading, routing, and delivery through coaching and influence.

  • Partners with group-level development and performance management teams and local site teams to coordinate projects and current performance.

  • Reads the problem in the real operation as well as in the data, tells the true cause apart from the noise, and turns the fix into a standard.

  • Documents processes (VSM, process maps).

  • Project management experience.

  • Willingness to travel 2 to 3 days per week across sites.

Preferred

  • Background in e-commerce, grocery, or same-day delivery.

  • Six Sigma and/or project management certification.
