Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. to drive improvement and lead lean transformations.

Main Scope of the Position/Responsibilities:

The PPI Specialist drives continuous improvement through Operational Excellence and Lean Transformation.

Assignments, Specific/Primary Activities:

  • Deliver results by leading change in people's and factory approach.
  • Promote lean principles and Operational Excellence standard methodologies across functions, allowing business growth through the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and the embedding of lean concepts.
  • Deploy lean culture and Operational Excellence tools within the organization via training and engagement activities.
  • Actively work on exciting projects and timelines to reach savings and efficiency targets both at the site and company level, collaborating with other site functions.
  • Analyze existing production processes, looking at timing, risks, costs, and wastes to increase yield and efficiency.
  • Implement and lead approved process improvement initiatives at all levels of the organization, including Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, FMEA, SMED, RCA, 5W, 5S, Tier Management, and lean workshops.
  • Coordinate the site’s performance management framework, supporting functions and site management in measuring performance to ensure alignment with division and company goals.

Relations:

  • Internal: All functions, from shop floor operators to the site leadership team.
  • External: Corporate Functions, Employees from other Thermo Fisher Scientific sites, Customers, Consulting firms, Suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Education:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Business, or equivalent experience in similar roles.

1. Desirable: Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Sciences, or Business.

  • Technical and PC Knowledge:

Necessary: Good problem-solving skills and strong collaboration demeanor. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word. Good presentation skills.

1. Desirable: Knowledge of continuous improvement and manufacturing principles. Green/Black Belt certification. Familiarity with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices). Knowledge of statistical tools. Expertise in Project Management.

  • Professional Experience:

Desirable: 5 years of experience with manufacturing processes.

  • Foreign Languages:

Proficiency in English and Italian.

  • Personality Traits:

Ability to promote change and partner with different functions and seniority levels. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to think “out of the box.”
