Job Description

The OEC Cluster Director – Poland, Czech Republic & Slovakia is responsible for the co-ordination and leadership of the ethics & compliance programs for the above-mentioned Affiliates within the CEE Region.
This position reports to the Ethics & Compliance Director Europe – Region North, Region South & Central Eastern Europe and is a member of the Management Team of those Affiliates. The role is based in one of the Cluster Affiliates and will require travelling to the other Cluster Affiliates.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Cluster Director is responsible for overseeing Cluster Affiliates and has a dotted line supervision over Affiliate OEC Liaisons regarding compliance program support.
  • The role involves coaching, developing, supervising, and coordinating team activities to ensure the successful execution of Cluster Affiliates’ Compliance program.
  • The Cluster Director collaborates with and coordinates the Affiliate/Cluster Affiliate Compliance Insights Forum (ACIF) to establish a top-tier compliance program and lead ACIF meetings for effectiveness and alignment.
  • Key responsibilities include providing guidance on industry and government regulations, acting as a strategic compliance partner, conducting risk assessments, implementing best practices, managing compliance policies, contributing to global compliance goals, and developing training programs.
  • The Cluster Director participates in and contributes to the Cluster Affiliate Medical-Legal-OEC-Regulatory meetings -also with the help and supervision of the OEC Liaisons.
  • The Cluster Director participates in local Industry group meetings, when applicable, shaping the external environment and identifying changes and trends, communicating them the ACIF and the OEC Area & International Leadership, and implementing necessary changes in the Affiliate Compliance Program.
  • Additional duties involve conducting proper local assessments and leading the monitoring plan for the Cluster Affiliates, detecting and managing non-reportable compliance incidents, coordinating internal investigations, assisting during external audits, and managing conflict of interests and awareness thereof. The Cluster Director collaborates with global peers to advance the Global compliance program.
  • The Cluster Director will be responsible for developing and driving cultural campaigns on Ethical Leadership, being an ambassador on acting with integrity.
  • The Cluster Director will be a member of the affiliate’s Management Teams in Poland as well as in Czech Republic & Slovakia, not only advising the teams on OEC related matters but also driving and contributing to affiliate priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with peers in other geographies to advance the Global compliance program.
  • Located either in Warsaw or Prague with regular travel to the Cluster affiliates.
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, coaching, guidance and direction for the development of direct reports (as applicable).
  • Assist in selecting and recruiting direct reports (as applicable).
  • May collaborate with and provide supervisory direction & guidance to Affiliate Compliance Liaisons on matters relating to the execution of local affiliate compliance programs (as applicable).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Legal education preferred).
  • At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in a Compliance or Legal function, and exposure to functions such as Legal, Regulatory, Finance or Government Affairs.
  • Pharmaceutical and Global industry experience preferred
  • Experience in collaborations with senior management preferred.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the business and environment.
  • Has a learning mindset, digs deep for insights to guide actions and routinely measures to determine impact. Works to enhance consistency within the Region and within the OEC Area and International, and helps inform Global guidance where applicable.
  • Ability to enable and coach the team to set a clear direction, prioritize effectively and make informed choices that drive impact. Provides strategic insights and consistent guidance to help the team balance strategic thinking with tactical execution of the Compliance program
  • Can influence decisions and coach to guide and empower the decision-making of the team and the business leaders on compliance topics as part of fully integrated cross-functional team members operating at Local, Regional, Area and Global levels within the organization.
  • Can effectively and continuously review, from a regional perspective, key elements of the local and international compliance program to monitor its correct implementation and to timely identify any potential issues. Can work with the team to ensure more effective local implementation using insights gained at Regional, Area or Global level.
  • Acts wisely under pressure and is self-assured in representing the team, function or organization. Has the ability to deal with ambiguity and manage grey zones and coach the team to be able to do the same.
  •  Can structure workload and is able to manage multiple priorities in short deadlines, and coach the team to be able to do the same.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including fluent command of English.
