In the Fixed Income Division (FID), we work in fast-paced and constantly changing global markets to assess and manage risk, trade securities, manage relationships with clients, and structure and execute innovative transactions.
We are looking for a Nodal Power Market Analyst to join our Commodities team within FID, playing a crucial role in trading, sales, and risk management of commodities and related financial products.
You will:
- Calibrate and validate Power market simulation models using historical dispatch, congestion, outage, LMP, and transmission data.
- Explain Nodal market congestion through Power Flow Model (DC OPF)
- Track market structure changes and Transmission planning changes for a particular ISO (PJM or MISO or ERCOT)
- Develop reports and tools to track Power flow Model fidelity and transparency
- Work with Traders to manage Portfolio risk & Work with Clients to structure tailored risk POV
- Leverage AI to automate Workflow
You have:
- Bachelor or Masters preferred in Power Systems with OPF related courses
- 3+ yrs Experience in running Power flow Models like DAYZER or PLEXOS or similar ISO Market simulation OPF software
- Experience understanding the dispatch and congestion patterns in market and correlate with Model behavior
- Market familiarity for PJM or MISO or ERCOT desired
- Strong Excel proficiency and also visualization tools like Tableau or PowerBI
- Coding via Python preferred
