The Net Automation Operator supports the entire Government Nets manufacturing operation by performing three key tasks on the automated net machine. 1) Net Layout – The NAO will layout and assemble cargo nets using templates. 2) Automated Sewing – The NAO will load the Automated Sewing Machine to sew patterns on the cargo nets. 3) Net Inspection – The NAO will perform a detailed inspection to ensure all quality standards are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Automated Net Machine Operation:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain the automated net sewing machine in compliance with work orders and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Perform routine tasks such as threading needles, loading/unloading bobbins, and setting yarn spools.
- Execute machine fault recovery using the (HMI).
- Perform bobbin case replacements within established cycle times.
- Navigate and resume sewing patterns after interruptions to maintain production continuity.
- Authorized to stop machine operations and notify maintenance or supervisors when encountering faults or safety issues.
Net Layout:
- Assemble pre-cut webbing and hardware on templates according to specified layouts.
- Ensure correct placement of materials following templates and production specifications.
- Handle physical demands including lifting and moving up to 30 lbs.
Net Inspection:
- Conduct detailed inspections to verify conformance of sew patterns, webbing, and hardware against customer and quality standards.
- Record inspection results accurately; tag and segregate defective nets for rework.
- Ensure inspection and layout of the subsequent net are completed within prescribed timeframes
- Collaborate with maintenance on troubleshooting and machine issues.
- Authorized to segregate and tag nonconforming products for rework per quality procedures.
- Report safety incidents and escalate operational concerns to management
