Mechanical Design Engineer
Chichester
Permanent, full-time

The Mechanical Design Engineer will undertake all duties associated with that of Mechanical Design Engineer operating out of the Company’s head office in Chichester, working on packaged fluid handling systems for the fluid handling sector.

More about the role:

  • Design assemblies using Solidworks.
  • Producing assembly and fabrication drawings.
  • Produce BOM’s to help with the procurement of materials.
  • Work with shop floor fabrication, mechanical assembly team and liaise with outside suppliers/fabricators.
  • Any other duties for which the mechanical design engineer is experienced and qualified and capable of undertaking that will add value to the business.

Qualifications

About you:

  • Experienced Solidworks operator.
  • Knowledge of producing assembly drawings & fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to work with other teams, and liaise with outside suppliers and fabricators.
  • Ability to produce BOM’s to help with the procurement of materials.
  • Good knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
  • Knowledge of designing steel structures.
  • Knowledge of piping standards, petrochemical industry, fabrication methods.
  • Ability to produce and understand hand calcs for structural Steelwork – foundation loads, etc.
