We have an opportunity for an Graduate Aero Mechanical Design Engineer to join Cadillac Formula 1® Team at Silverstone. In this role you will be work within a group of skilled design engineers in helping develop the team’s 60% wind tunnel model and testing facility, designing and developing mechanical and electromechanical systems for the model.
- Support delivery of high quality designed mechanical parts for the wind tunnel model
- Working on design projects in all aspects of the design of the mechanical systems used on the wind tunnel model, test facility and aero instrumentation
- Reviewing designs and developing an understanding on how to improve the performance and reliability of engineering systems
- Working to achieve the project scope set out by senior team members to complete mechanical design solutions
- Contribute new ideas in design methodology including process and procedures
- Investigate and research new technologies and materials to be used in the development of mechanical systems
Requirements
What do we need from you?
- A degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering/Design/Motorsport) or similar
- Completed your degree within the past 12 months, or you are scheduled to complete it within the next 12 months
- Some experience of mechanical design using 3D CAD software (preferably 3DExperience/CATIA)
- Some knowledge and understanding of complex mechanical engineering is advantageous
- Ability to apply structural engineering techniques for part validation (FEA)
- Some knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques including composite manufacture and advanced digital manufacture
- An awareness of GD&T and its application
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Able to perform duties in a timely manner with minimal errors
- Communicate effectively with colleagues
- Clear and concise communication, verbally and with the use of email
- Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture

Skills Required
