- Execute analyses for assigned projects using sound engineering principles, while adhering to established business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
- Perform structural and stress analyses for reactor pressure vessels and internal components using finite element analysis (FEA) tools and closed form equations.
- Develop and run ANSYS FEA models to evaluate both mechanical and thermal stresses under various service level conditions.
- Perform engineering evaluations on stress and fatigue to demonstrate compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, primarily Subsection NG, with some exposure to NB, NCD, and NF requirements.
- Generate dynamic loads for the reactor pressure vessel and other components due to earthquake and large pipe break.
- Develop creative solutions and reduce analysis complexity to create accurate and effective solutions for complex engineering problems.
- Prepare technical reports, calculation packages, and documentation supporting regulatory and design requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, system engineers, project managers, and external partners to complete assigned design activities.
