Socomec is seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team and play a key role in improving safety, quality, manufacturing efficiency, and production capacity across North America. This position will be responsible for leading localization projects that transfer products currently manufactured in EMEA and APAC facilities into the North American region.

This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, project management expertise, and the ability to collaborate with global teams. The Manufacturing Project Engineer will serve as a critical link between North American operations and Socomec manufacturing facilities worldwide while driving industrialization, process improvements, and manufacturing transfer initiatives.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

• Lead product localization and manufacturing transfer projects into North America.

• Develop project plans, budgets, timelines, and governance structures while ensuring cost, quality, delivery, and capacity objectives are achieved.

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and develop optimized manufacturing solutions for North American operations.

• Define manufacturing requirements, production processes, supply chain strategies, equipment needs, and vendor requirements.

• Collaborate closely with manufacturing sites, suppliers, and stakeholders across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

• Support make-versus-buy analyses, risk assessments, business cases, and manufacturing strategy initiatives.

• Drive process improvements, operational excellence projects, and change management activities associated with manufacturing transfers.

• Support production teams on the shop floor and help implement standardized manufacturing processes and best practices across North America.


Essential Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably within the electrical industry.

• Experience supporting products through prototyping, commercialization, and full-scale production.

• Proven experience leading manufacturing improvement, industrialization, localization, or transfer projects.

• Strong understanding of ERP systems and manufacturing business processes.

• Experience selecting vendors, manufacturing processes, production equipment, tooling, and capital equipment.

• Experience managing capital equipment implementation projects from planning through execution.

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

Additional Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Compensation range: $90,000 – $105,000 USD
