Yext is seeking a highly skilled candidate for a SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager to join its dynamic accounting team within a fast-paced organization. As part of the larger finance organization, this role will assist the leaders of the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting function in providing the quarterly and annual financial reporting for the company.
Reporting directly to the SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting Senior Manager based in the US, the ideal candidate will be a demonstrated leader and team player who excels at meeting deadlines, is extremely detail oriented, and is able to prioritize multiple commitments. Having a strong background in U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, external reporting processes and internal controls in a public company environment are also required.
Responsibilities
- Compile quarterly and annual financial reporting SEC filings and related releases (Forms 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-Ks), including the drafting and ownership of all financial statements, certain notes and MD&A disclosures
- Ownership of supporting workpaper documentation, tie out process, PBC lists, and GAAP checklists
- Project manage schedules of requests across multiple internal/external teams
- Researching and drafting technical position memos related to complex accounting topics for new, unusual or non-standard transactions
- Initiate and drive process improvement projects focusing on enhancing reporting processes and systems and related internal controls
- Work effectively with internal and external parties including revenue and general accounting, FP&A, legal, investor relations, internal and external audit.
- Support audit and SOX requirements
- Report on, evaluate, and update operating and non-GAAP metrics as necessary while ensuring accuracy, definitions, and reconciliations are compliant with SEC guidelines.
- Staying current with emerging and newly released SEC regulations with the ability to outline whether new regulations will have an impact on the company, whether current processes are structured to absorb incremental information requests, and design/implement new processes as needed
- Review other external forms of communication including shareholder letters, earnings releases, and presentations for accuracy
- Support management in completing special projects and ad-hoc technical accounting requests as assigned
- Assist in updating and maintaining internal policy documentation for the company
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field
- 8+ years of accounting experience with Big 4 and private company experience with an SEC registrant
- Strong knowledge and application of GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls
- Excellent project management skills and keen attention to detail with a solid understanding of various filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10K, 8-K)
- Self-starter with commitment to process improvements and the ability to generate ideas and execute with minimal supervision
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships across the organization
- High degree of dedication, effective time-management abilities, self-starter mentality, and ownership of assigned areas from end to end.
- Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and meticulous attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workplace
- CA designation or equivalent
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Workiva and NetSuite (or similar applications)
