Job Description

To ensure accurate and timely reporting, reconciliation, and substantiation of Global Markets and Treasury products income statement and balance sheet, while enhancing these core outputs through insightful analysis that supports business performance, revenue growth, and improved client solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce and validate daily and periodic P&L and balance sheet reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
  • Perform reconciliations across front-office trading systems, core banking platforms, and the general ledger, including currency positions and product balances.
  • Analyse P&L and balance sheet movements, providing clear attribution, variance explanations, and actionable insights.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring root-cause identification and sustainable fixes.
  • Deliver concise, value-added commentary to support trading, client activity, and business strategy.
  • Partner with front office, risk, and finance teams to translate financial results into commercially relevant insights.
  • Support new product initiatives through design of reporting frameworks, controls, and system requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and data quality enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc analysis, projects, and business initiatives.

Qualifications

Type of Qualification: First Degree
Field of Study: Finance and Accounting

Preferred Qualification: CPA/ACCA will be an added advantage

  • Ability to understand specific accounting practices, such as risk attribution, fair value and hedging
  • 2-3 years experience working in a Global Markets/Treasury product control or similar environment (finance or market risk support role would be sufficient)
  • Demonstrate ability to collaborate and build networks to solve a range of complicated problems and analyzing possible solutions
  • Demonstrate ability to prepare financial reports, reconciliations and perform other relevant accounting practices
  • Demonstrate track record using technical knowledge, logical data driven arguments to influence people and the right reporting outcome
  • Develop in-depth knowledge about the Finance Operations capability as a whole and/ or in an area of specialisation, with growing knowledge of core products and business lines that are serviced
