We are seeking a Manager, SOX PMO to support the Head of SOX PMO in managing Manulife’s Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance program. This role focuses on coordination, reporting, and process improvement to ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in internal controls or audit, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, coordination, and execution of SOX compliance activities across business units.
- Assist with maintaining SOX program documentation, including policies, procedures, and control frameworks.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure timely completion of testing and remediation.
- Prepare and maintain SOX program dashboards and reporting for leadership.
- Assist with Archer system activities (e.g., quarterly attestations, access reviews).
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of SOX compliance.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on SOX requirements and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in internal controls, audit, or financial compliance (SOX experience preferred).
- Familiarity with internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- CPA, CIA, or similar certification is a plus but not required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with GRC tools (e.g., Archer).
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
