The Manager, Demand Planning - Global Snacking is the global steward of Snacking's demand signal - consolidating, challenging, and aligning regional demand inputs into a single, coherent Global Snacking view that drives the end-to-end supply chain and the S&OP / IBP cycle.
Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain - Global Snacking, the Manager, Demand Planning actively participates in each region's Demand Gap Review (S&OP Consensus / Step 2) as the consistent voice of Global Snacking. While each region remains responsible for building its own commercial forecast, this role brings those regional forecasts into one aligned Global Snacking demand view. Working with Regional Managing Directors, it confirms the rolling 18-month plan is reliable and that any major risks and opportunities are clear and actioned.
This is a newly created, globally scoped role positioned Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
What you'll be doing.
- Consolidate regional demand inputs into a single, coherent Global Snacking demand view across all products, channels, and markets.
- Vet and challenge regional forecasts for reliability and consistency, ensuring the global signal is the best representation of Snacking's business objectives and ambitions.
- Partner with Regional Managing Directors to align the consolidated demand view with business strategy, growth plans, and the Long-Range Business Plan - surfacing major risks and opportunities.
- Attend each region's Demand Gap Review (S&OP Consensus / Step 2), bringing a consistent global lens and cross-regional consistency to the consensus discussion.
- Reconcile and align assumptions across regions to produce one trusted global demand plan for the Snacking S&OP / IBP cycle.
- Define and govern global demand-planning standards and best practices to drive consistency across regions.
- Monitor and drive improvement in global forecast accuracy (e.g., BIAS / MAPE) and process maturity, identifying leading causes of error and deploying improvement initiatives.
- Partner with Global Supply Chain to develop and roll out demand-planning tools, models, and reporting consistently across regions.
- Represent the consolidated global demand view within the Snacking S&OP / IBP process, clearly summarizing assumptions, risks, and recommended actions.
- Ensure the aligned global demand signal transfers accurately to downstream supply, production, and intercompany planning.
- Act as the demand-planning subject-matter expert for the Global Snacking business.
- Build and maintain global demand-planning dashboards and reporting (forecast consumption, accuracy, exception tracking) to support S&OP decision-making.
- Embed a "check the data" culture - process controls, master-data governance, and rigorous data quality before information is shared across the organization.
What you'll need to be successful.
- University degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, or Business.
- Proven expertise in demand planning and statistical forecasting, with strong working knowledge of S&OP / IBP processes.
- Hands-on proficiency with SAP APO / IBP and BlueYonder (or equivalent planning systems), advanced Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills - able to translate large, complex data sets into clear insight and decisions.
- Business acumen to understand commercial and marketing strategies and their supply chain impact.
- Ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders across regions toward a single consensus view - without direct authority - in a complex, multinational, matrixed organization.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills; fluent in English.
- APICS CSCP / CPIM certification preferred.
- Alignment with McCain's values of authenticity, integrity, and people-first leadership.
