Within regional Supply Chain organization, the Demand Planning Manager interprets and evaluates/questions the monthly forecasting results based on internal and external market data before it is being released for the next step in the S&OP process. It covers Frozen Potato, Frozen Appetizers and Flakes business, all channels included (Food Service, Retail, QSR, B2B, Private label, Export).
The demand planning manager focuses on the following:
- Validate the reliability of the rolling 18-months demand plan and compare it against our Long Range Plan to identify major R&O's
- Actively contribute to Global Supply Chain projects related to forecasting results improvement
- Drive with the global team the knowledge & continuous improvement of the statistical models to ensure appropriate usage of models
- Quality, accuracy, reliability of data as well as reporting & analysis shared within Supply Chain team and used for decision making
- Forecasting strategy based on market trends, our commercial key strategic initiatives and operating model, define a robust demand planning strategy for the region:
- development and improvement of statistical models to forecast demand on our portfolio
- challenge model reliability with external data (like panels for example) and sell out data to withdraw improvements / interpretation guidelines
- data & variability management strategy (stats, explanatory variables, exogenous variables, data cleaning, BIAS / MAPE targets, lead times, production cycle, ...)
- Define clear rules to manage short term and long term forecast (exceptional request management, interface back office / forecasting team - roles & responsibilities, ...)
- Work in close collaboration with global teams to develop robust demand planning tools (models, enhancement, reportings, ...) and ensure effective roll out in the region.
- Provide 18-months rolling Demand Planning based on forecast at sku / country level.
- Implement an efficient interface process with sales team to issue robust forecast on a monthly basis and improve forecast accuracy.
- Implement a set of relevant reporting to pilot SCM activity (forecast consumption, exceptional requests follow up, daily forecast tracker, forecasts accuracy, ...)
- Ensure accurate data management and cleaning (delisting, new sku's, switches, ...)
- Grow analytical approach and ability to build a helicopter view based on all the available data to support decision making at S&OP level.
- Grow rigor and implement a "check the data" culture before sharing data within the organization
- Pro-actively prepare SGR meeting by providing all necessary analysis in close collaboration with production planning and customer service.
- Identify opportunities to improve statistical forecasting models
- Ensure Demand planning Team is properly trained and supported on systems implemented
Requirements to be successful
- Business school or Engineer Master Degree.
- Proven experience in demand planning / supply chain area
- Good knowledge of statistics • Business acumen : ability to understand commercial / marketing strategies & their impact on supply chain
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate market/internal data into results
- Ability to work in a complex environment and a multinational team
- Ability to drive change
- Skilled in project management and knowledgeable in systems related topics
- Fluent in English
