OVERVIEW:

The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for the Company’s mid- and long-term planning functions, including the development and oversight of the annual operating plan (budget) and the modeling of long-term financial plans. The Manager partners with senior leadership to evaluate strategic plans and budgets and to communicate variances, trends, opportunities, and risks.  The Manager is also responsible for developing reporting and analyses that support decision-making and facilitate communication with the Company’s executive team. In addition, the Manager participates in various ad hoc projects and initiatives.

This role requires a thorough understanding of the drivers of business performance and the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with senior leaders throughout the organization. The Manager must possess expert financial modeling capabilities, strong strategic and analytical thinking skills, and exceptional research and problem-solving abilities. The workload frequently shifts across responsibilities, requiring flexibility, perseverance, and a high degree of comfort with ambiguity.

Long-term Financial Modeling

  • Manage the long-term planning process by working within the Finance organization and with leaders across the business to gather information and develop assumptions that support the financial model.
  • Consolidate projections from all business areas to produce the business-wide income statement.
  • Develop and present executive-level scenario analyses in support of long-term strategic discussions.
  • Leverage best practices and a strong understanding of financial interdependencies and business drivers to develop or enhance modeling approaches that increase efficiency and support emerging business initiatives

Annual Operating Plan (Budget)

  • Partner with senior leaders across the organization (FP&A, Accounting, Business, etc.) to ensure strategies, investments, and financial expectations are identified, understood, and incorporated into the annual financial plan.
  • Lead the business-wide annual budgeting process and provide guidance to the Finance team to ensure alignment with key assumptions and expectations.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses for senior management, as needed.

Reporting

  • Develop executive reporting to support the annual financial plan and budget.
  • Support business organizations with ad hoc analyses and modeling related to emerging risks and opportunities affecting the business, as needed.
  • Collaborate with management to identify informational and analytical needs that support the long-term planning of the business, and develop reporting, processes, and procedures to support operational and functional activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related business field

  • 7 - 10 years of total experience with 3 – 5 years of experience in areas such as Financial Planning, Corporate Finance, or Investor Relations

  • Experience in retail, consumer products, apparel, or other customer-focused industries a plus

  • Role may require mentorship and/or direct supervision of Financial Analysts or Rotational Program Associates

  • Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment

  • Requires focus amid rapidly shifting priorities, attention to detail, independent problem solving and adherence to tight deadlines when required
