Аbout us
OfficeRnD has one mission: making flexible and hybrid working the norm, rather than an option.
We started building our SaaS platform back in 2015 to support the future of work. We believe that offering freedom and flexibility is the key to providing a better workspace experience. And that’s what enables us to develop products that matter - for our customers and the world.
The company has offices in Bulgaria, USA, UK, Australia and our teammates are the ones getting us to the top in our market niche. If you're passionate about technology, too, come and join us!
Аbout the role
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support the General Counsel in scaling OfficeRnD’s legal function through its next stage of growth. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will own a defined portfolio of operational legal work, with a primary focus on commercial contracting and corporate compliance. As you build depth in these areas, your scope will expand into additional parts of the function.
This is a hands-on, structured role for someone in the early stage of their in-house career, energised by owning their work end-to-end, building durable processes, and growing alongside the business. You will operate independently on routine matters and partner closely with the General Counsel on more complex or strategic questions.
This is a 12-18 month maternity cover role with a path to a permanent position based on performance and evolving business needs.
What You’ll Do
Commercial Contracting & Deal Desk
- Own the legal intake function end-to-end: triage incoming requests, manage them to clear timelines, and resolve the majority of items independently.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements - customer contracts, vendor and partnership agreements, NDAs, and integration agreements.
- Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing as a force multiplier - actively helping the go-to-market teams reach commercially sound outcomes.
- Partner with Revenue Operations on the contract template gallery - supporting adoption across the go-to-market teams, advising on amendments, and ensuring ongoing alignment of templates with the company’s commercial and legal standards.
- Provide clear, practical guidance on commercial terms and recurring deal-desk levers.
Corporate, Back Office & Compliance
- Develop a working understanding of our group structure and the inter-company arrangements that connect our operating entities.
- Partner with Finance, People Team and Security on corporate and regulatory compliance across the company’s operating jurisdictions - corporate filings, director and registered-address changes, annual reporting, regulatory certificates, tax registrations, and insurance renewals.
- Help maintain and operate the company’s compliance calendar, ensuring filing deadlines and statutory obligations are tracked and met.
- Working knowledge of commercial-register procedures, maintain corporate records, prepare resolutions, and support governance matters as directed by the General Counsel.
Areas You Can Grow Into
As you build depth in the primary focus areas above, your scope can expand into additional responsibilities:
- Privacy and data protection - partnering with the Security and Compliance function on GDPR, UK GDPR, DPA reviews, and customer security questionnaires.
- Intellectual property - supporting trademark, copyright, licensing, and trade-secret matters in coordination with the General Counsel and external IP counsel.
- Regulatory horizon-scanning - monitoring developments at national and EU levels in jurisdictions where the company operates, and notifying the General Counsel of items that materially affect the business.
- Employment matters - supporting People Operations on day-to-day employment questions across the company's operating jurisdictions, in coordination with external employment counsel where specialist input is required.
- Product expansion and development - supporting Product, Engineering, and Security on legal considerations across new feature launches, integrations, and customer-facing terms.
What You'll Bring
- Law degree (JD or equivalent) from an accredited law school and a valid licence to practise.
- Understanding of commercial and corporate law and principles, with the ability to apply them effectively in a fast-moving business context.
- Expressed interest in commercial legal work, ideally with exposure to SaaS contracting, licensing agreements, or technology-driven business models - direct experience is a plus but not mandatory.
- Interest in operating across multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction environments.
- Comfortable owning a structured workload and operating to clear timelines.
- An eye for process - interest in turning ad-hoc work into repeatable systems over time.
- Clear, practical communicator willing to partner effectively with cross-functional and international teams.
- High attention to detail, sound judgement, and an organised, proactive working style.
- Genuine desire to work in a fast-paced, international environment, balancing agility with thoughtful risk management.
- Growth-oriented - open to expanding your scope over time as you build depth and the role evolves.
- A genuine interest in artificial intelligence and how evolving technologies are reshaping both the businesses we advise and the practice of law itself.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, including legal English.
What we offer
- Premium health insurance, including dental coverage
- 25 days of annual paid leave
- An additional day off to celebrate your birthday
- 3 paid volunteering days per year
- Full compensation for the first 3 days of sick leave
- Additional Parental leave
- To ease your commute, we provide you with either parking access or a public transport pass.
