About Rocketlane

Rocketlane is building the AI-native command centre for professional services teams.

We help companies run customer onboarding, implementation, project delivery, resource management, time tracking, billing, governance, and customer collaboration from one platform — replacing scattered spreadsheets, manual follow-ups, and fragmented tools with clarity, accountability, and execution discipline.

With Nitro, Rocketlane’s agentic AI platform, we’re taking PSA from a system that tracks work to a system that helps execute it. Nitro automates frontline operations, surfaces risks early, enforces governance, keeps delivery context current, and assists with high-effort work like configurations, migrations, testing, documentation, resourcing, and project oversight.

Backed by $105M in funding, including a $60M Series C led by Insight Partners, Rocketlane serves 750+ customers globally, including 17 companies on the Forbes Cloud 100 list. Customers include Intercom, Glean, and Notion — modern, high-growth teams that use Rocketlane to bring structure, visibility, and execution rigor to complex service delivery.

We’re looking for designers who can shape this next chapter: people who can make complex delivery systems feel simple, intelligent, and powerful in the AI era.

What will you do?

As a Lead Product Designer at Rocketlane, you’ll own important areas of the product and help shape the next generation of our PSA platform.

You will:

  • Own end-to-end design strategy and execution for key product areas.

  • Partner closely with product managers, engineers, customer-facing teams, and customers to understand problems deeply.

  • Turn ambiguous, complex enterprise problems into clear product direction and intuitive user flows that feel simple and easy to adopt.

  • Treat AI as a core part of your design toolkit, using it to accelerate product thinking, generate sharper explorations, validate assumptions, and close the gap between design and engineering — including pushing UI refinements or raising small PRs where appropriate.

  • Raise the bar for usability, interaction design, visual craft, and product coherence.

  • Mentor junior designers, provide thoughtful critique, and help build a strong design culture within the team.

  • Help evolve Rocketlane’s design system so the product remains consistent, scalable, and efficient to build.

You should apply if
  • You have 7+ years of experience in product design, with strong experience in SaaS or enterprise software.

  • You are comfortable designing for complexity — permissions, workflows, states, approvals, collaboration, reporting, configuration, and enterprise-scale use cases.

  • You can think like a product manager: framing problems, identifying trade-offs, writing or critiquing PRDs, defining success metrics, and challenging assumptions.

  • You have a strong ownership mindset and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

What makes you stand out
  • You have designed AI-assisted or AI-native product experiences.

  • You are curious about how AI changes the products we design, not just how designers work.

  • You have experience with enterprise SaaS platforms involving multiple personas, permissions, workflows, and complex data models.

  • You can move fluidly between strategy, systems design, interaction detail, visual polish, and implementation quality.

  • You bring strong product judgment, not just design execution.

Why join us?

At Rocketlane, design is not a service function. Designers are expected to understand the business, challenge product direction, and own outcomes. You won’t just make things look better — you’ll help decide what we build, why it matters, and how it should work.

This is a high-impact role on a product that sits at the center of how services teams deliver value to customers. The problems are deep, messy, and meaningful: people, timelines, budgets, approvals, risks, customer expectations, utilization, margins, and business outcomes. In other words, plenty of complexity — and plenty of room for great design to make a real difference.

Here’s why this role is exciting:

  • High ownership, low hand-holding
You’ll own large, important product areas and shape them from first principles. Bring strong opinions, clear reasoning, and the willingness to make things happen.

  • Real product complexity
You’ll work on workflows that power how companies deliver customer outcomes — not shallow UI problems. Expect edge cases, enterprise constraints, and the occasional “wait, why does this work this way?” moment.

  • AI-first product and design culture
We’re actively exploring how AI changes both the product we build and the way we build it. Designers here use AI to think faster, prototype faster, challenge assumptions, and collaborate more effectively with product and engineering.

  • Strong product collaboration
You’ll work closely with sharp PMs, engineers, customer-facing teams, and founders who care deeply about product quality and customer impact. Good ideas can come from anywhere; well-reasoned ones travel fast.

  • Room to raise the bar
As a Lead Product Designer, you’ll help shape not just screens, but design quality, product thinking, systems, rituals, and culture. If you enjoy improving how teams work, there’s a lot to sink your teeth into.

  • Flexibility with intensity
We collaborate in office five days a week because we value speed, context, and creative energy. At the same time, we offer flexibility around hours so people can work in a rhythm that helps them do their best work.

If you’re excited by complex product systems, AI-native ways of working, and the chance to shape a category-defining SaaS platform with a team that moves fast and has fun doing it, we’d love to talk.

  • Experience with design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design
