Your Role & TeamThe Key Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth and long-term value within CreditorWatch’s Key Accounts segment ($250M+). This role owns the commercial relationship with assigned customers, focusing on retention, expansion and cross-sell / upsell opportunities across complex, multi-stakeholder organisations.
Operating as a senior, quota‑carrying sales role, the Key Account Manager balances customer success with proactive commercial growth. The role works closely with Business Development Managers during client handover stages and then assumes ownership of the ongoing commercial relationship, identifying new opportunities to expand CreditorWatch’s footprint across divisions, subsidiaries and use cases.
The Key Account Manager acts as a trusted advisor to senior customer stakeholders, ensuring CreditorWatch is embedded as a strategic partner. The role collaborates closely with Product, Data, Engineering, Legal and Customer Success teams to deliver value‑led outcomes while maintaining disciplined pipeline management, forecasting and commercial governance.
This is full-time opportunity reporting to the Head of Key Accounts (South) and offers hybrid working conditions out of our Melbourne CBD Office.
Some of your responsibilities include and are not limited to:
Key Account Ownership & Growth
- Owns a portfolio of Key Account customers, with accountability for retention, expansion and revenue growth.
- Identifies and pursues cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across additional products, services and business units.
- Develops and executes account‑specific growth plans aligned to customer priorities and CreditorWatch objectives.
- Expands relationships across multiple stakeholders, including finance, credit, procurement, marketing, digital and sales leaders.
Commercial Sales Execution
- Manages and demonstrates a consistent, well‑qualified sales pipeline across all stages of the sales cycle.
- Leads commercial conversations, solution positioning and negotiations within existing customer environments.
- Owns renewals, contract extensions, tenders and commercial variations in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Ensures pricing, quoting and commercial approvals align with governance frameworks.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Acts as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned Key Account customers.
- Builds trusted, long‑term relationships with senior and executive‑level stakeholders.
- Maintains proactive engagement to ensure strong adoption, satisfaction and advocacy.
- Manages issues and escalations with professionalism and a solutions‑focused mindset.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Works closely with Key Account BDMs to manage client handovers at various stages of the customer lifecycle.
- Engages internal teams including Product, Engineering, Data & Analytics, Legal and Customer Success to deliver customer outcomes.
- Partners with Technical Pre‑Sales to support complex solutions, tenders and RFx responses.
- Feeds structured customer insight back into Product and Commercial teams.
Sales Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintains accurate CRM records, opportunity stages and account activity.
- Forecasts revenue, renewals and expansion pipeline with discipline and transparency.
- Prepares and delivers account reviews, pipeline updates and performance insights to leadership.
- Uses data to prioritise opportunities and improve conversion outcomes.
Market & Account Insight
- Stays informed on industry trends, customer challenges and competitor activity within the Key Accounts segment.
- Identifies emerging opportunities within accounts and broader market shifts that may impact strategy.
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness when faced with complex customer or commercial challenges.
- 7+ years’ experience in a quota‑carrying B2B sales or account management role within SaaS, fintech, credit or technology‑enabled environments
- Proven success growing revenue within existing large, complex customer accounts
- Strong hunter mindset applied to account expansion and opportunity creation
- End‑to‑end ownership of expansion sales cycles, including negotiation and close
- Excellent stakeholder management skills across senior and executive‑level buyers
- Strong commercial acumen across pricing, contracts, renewals and deal governance
- Disciplined approach to pipeline management, forecasting and CRM hygiene
- Ability to collaborate effectively with BDMs, pre‑sales, product, data and legal teams
- Data‑driven approach to account planning and prioritisation
- High level of resilience, adaptability and problem‑solving capability
- Clear, confident verbal and written communication skills
