Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. Join us in the Electrification Distribution Solutions Team as a Key Account Manager and you’ll have the opportunity to develop, implement, and manage the account strategy that focuses on share of wallet growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. You will coordinate sales activities, monitor current projects, and manage the resolution of specific customer problems. You will also showcase your expertise by giving input on market price developments and tendencies.

- Lead development and execution of the account plan and Statement of Work growth actions, including executive relationship strategy, coverage plans, and opportunity prioritization across NSW and the ACT.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to increase ABB’s win rate on key customers and projects, positioning full-portfolio Medium Voltage (MV) Distribution Solutions throughout the entire sales cycle.
- Build senior relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to understand buying drivers and end user behaviors, converting insight into differentiated values and solutions.
- Define and deliver sales and gross margin targets for priority accounts; contribute pricing insights based on market dynamics and implement proactive responses to competitor activity.
- Navigate multiple tender platforms and collaborate closely with product and segment sales teams to align on market needs and ensure ABB is the first choice for investment projects.
- Understand key customer business drivers and risks (e.g., sustainability, digital, cybersecurity) and translate them into concrete opportunities for ABB, while maintaining 100% compliance with ABB’s safety, integrity, and ethical standards.
- You’ll bring a solid foundation in Engineering (Electrical) or a relevant commercial qualification, giving you the confidence to engage in technical conversations and strategic discussions alike.
- You have at least 5 years’ experience in sales or account management within a related industry, with a track record of building strong customer relationships and delivering results.
- Your technical knowledge of the electrical sector, especially medium‑voltage solutions such as switchgear, protection relays, or compact secondary substations sets you up for success in this role.
- Hands-on experience with estimating and tendering (ideally using SAP) will be a strong advantage as you navigate complex bids and proposals.
- You’re an excellent communicator, capable of engaging confidently with stakeholders at every level, both inside the business and across the customer landscape.
