We are seeking an experienced Modern Trade Sales Manager to drive business growth across key organized retail accounts. This role is responsible for developing and executing modern trade sales strategies, managing relationships with leading retail chains, and expanding product presence across large-format stores. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the consumer products industry, organized retail operations, and key account management, with a proven ability to achieve sales targets and drive profitable growth.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Develop and execute modern trade sales strategies to drive revenue growth across organized retail channels.
- Manage key accounts, including leading retail chains, and build long-term strategic relationships with category managers and buying teams.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand product listings, visibility, and shelf presence across retail outlets.
- Negotiate commercial terms, annual business plans, promotions, pricing, and trade agreements with key retail partners.
- Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, merchandising, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of promotional campaigns and product launches.
- Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, stock availability, and category performance across modern trade accounts.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to recommend business growth opportunities.
- Drive secondary sales, optimize product assortment, and improve in-store execution to maximize revenue.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, account reviews, business reports, and performance dashboards for leadership.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer issues while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field; an MBA is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in Modern Trade Sales, Key Account Management, or Business Development within the FMCG, Consumer Products, Retail, or Consumer Technology sectors.
- Strong experience managing leading organized retail accounts such as D-Mart, Reliance Retail, and other large-format retail chains.
- Excellent understanding of modern trade operations, category management, merchandising, and retail distribution.
- Strong negotiation, relationship management, and commercial acumen with the ability to manage strategic customer partnerships.
- Experience achieving sales targets, driving category growth, and executing joint business plans with retail partners.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in sales reporting, forecasting, and market analysis.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and capable of managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced business environment.
- Willingness to travel as required for customer meetings, business reviews, and market development initiatives.
Skills Required
