Job Summary

As part of the account team, the Junior Territory Sales Executive is a results oriented professional focused on driving revenue and new business. The role of a Junior Territory Sales Executive is to understand customer needs and leverage our partner network to deliver high impact Red Hat solutions that drive business transformation.

In other words, a Junior Territory Sales Executive at Red Hat can be you

Do you thrive on uncovering new business opportunities and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships? If so this is your chance to launch your career at the cutting edge of enterprise open source!

What you will do

During your first year as a Junior Territory Sales Executive, you’ll participate in the FASTER Program, Field Accelerator for Sales and Technical Emerging Roles (we do love a good acronym), a comprehensive 12-month onboarding and development program designed to provide you with the advanced sales strategies, partner ecosystem expertise, and territory management skills needed to excel. You’ll gain hands-on experience with demand generation planning, learn from seasoned sales leaders, and contribute to revenue growth and new customer acquisition from day one.

During your first year, you will focus on mastering the landscape and building a foundation. Following this period, the role evolves into a full-cycle commercial position. We are looking for individuals who are eager to graduate into a performance-driven compensation model—one that trades a traditional fixed ceiling for significant, uncapped upside based on your ability to deliver results.

This cohort-based program starts in September 2026. Through this experience, you will:

  • Learn all about Red Hat and how we support our customers to address their strategic business challenges with our portfolio to drive commercial success

  • Build a strong support network of your Peers, Manager, Mentor and other Red Hatters within and outside of your team

  •  Develop the sales expertise needed to successfully sell the Red Hat portfolio, with a primary focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), by completing comprehensive trainings and attaining sales credentials

  •  Apply your sales strategies as you engage in meaningful partner collaboration and new customer acquisition activities

  • Shadow and work alongside more experienced field and partner sellers to drive opportunities through planning, forecasting, and deal progression

  • Enhance your professional capabilities through real-world experiences working directly with customers and participating in skill development opportunities

  • Gain an understanding of the processes and operational tools required to drive deal velocity, partner registration, and accurate revenue forecasting

  • Focus on your personal and professional development as you grow your career at Red Hat

  •  Support the sales organization’s goals to drive new customer acquisition, accelerate deal cycles by leveraging channel incentives, and maximize revenue growth within the territory

What you will bring

  • Passion and curiosity for open source technology and desire to build a career in enterprise software sales

  • Foundational business or sales skills gained through university programs (Business Administration, Marketing, Communications), internships, retail sales, or relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated experience applying analytical, organizational, and goal setting skills in a professional or academic setting

  • Motivation to engage in self-directed learning , specifically regarding sales methodologies, market trends, and the Red Hat portfolio

  • General familiarity with the concept of open source or cloud computing; prior exposure to Red Hat products (RHEL, Ansible) is a plus, but a willingness to learn is essential

  • Desire to be partner and customer-focused, with an aptitude for building relationships and understanding business needs

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites depending on assignments and to work both in-person from a Red Hat office location and remotely

  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal teams and and external channel partners

  • Basic familiarity with data or CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, Google Sheets/Excel) is a plus, but not required

  • Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
