The Role

Are you ready to redefine air-ground synergy? Leidos' National Security Sector is on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Joint Air-Ground Integration Specialist to join our innovative team supporting Air Combat Command's Personnel Recovery Joint Integration Division (A3J). This role places you at the forefront of strategic engagements with the Headquarters Air Staff in Washington, D.C., offering a chance to be a pivotal force in shaping tomorrow's national security landscape.

While you'll enjoy the flexibility of remote work, your mission will primarily unfold out of Hampton, Virginia, and throughout the greater National Capital Region. As part of our comprehensive Military Intelligence Program, you'll be directly involved in enhancing Air Combat Command operations at every level. This position isn’t merely a job—it’s a platform for unparalleled professional growth, technical mastery, and accelerated career advancement within a leading national security organization.

Primary Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will be entrusted with driving innovation and refining critical operational strategies that bolster U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army integration, along with supporting Joint Force and coalition partners. Your expertise will empower you to:

  • Develop cutting-edge TTPs: Pioneer enhancements for the Joint Air Ground Integration Cell (JAGIC) to elevate operational effectiveness.
  • Modernize key operations: Spearhead the evolution of the Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) to meet emerging challenges head-on.
  • Enhance interoperability: Forge seamless collaboration between Combat Air Force and Special Operations Forces, ensuring unified, synchronized missions.
  • Analyze and integrate lessons learned: Delve into operational experiences from joint exercises and real-world scenarios to fine-tune tactical approaches.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying and integrating technologies that enhance operational performance.
  • Shape doctrine and policy: Contribute to the development and refinement of Joint and service-specific doctrines, ensuring they reflect modern operational realities.
  • Serve as a bridge: Act as the crucial liaison between Air Force and Army units, fostering clear communication and effective cross-domain coordination.
  • Drive integration initiatives: Support the harmonization of Joint C2 and Mission Command systems, ensuring interoperability across all echelons.
  • Conduct capability gap analyses: Inform acquisition strategies with targeted analyses that pinpoint and resolve current and future operational needs.
  • Champion coalition efforts: Enhance multinational and coalition interoperability, strengthening combined operational effectiveness.
  • Support risk management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in air-ground operations to secure mission success.
  • Participate in key reviews and assessments: Provide critical insights during after-action reviews, training exercises, and operational assessments that inform senior leadership decisions.

In addition to these core responsibilities, you'll mentor team members, ensure compliance with time-charging and training requirements, and serve as the vital conduit between on-site and remote personnel with regular status updates and comprehensive participation in both unclassified and classified meetings.

Telecommuting: Residing near Langley AFB or Washington, D.C can be a real asset, though it's not required.

Basic Qualifications

  • 15+ years of relevant experience: Demonstrated expertise in U.S. Air Force, Army, or Marine Corps combat arms specialties.
  • 10+ years in Joint Air-Ground operations: A deep, operational background in integrated air and ground tactics.
  • Active TOP SECRET SCI clearance: A prerequisite for operating at the highest levels of national security.
  • Professional military education: Graduation from an intermediate or senior-level professional military education program is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • JPME Phase II or Joint Qualified Officer: Completion of advanced military education or equivalent designation.
  • Experience on Joint or Combined Command staffs: Prior roles in Joint, Combined, or Combatant Command environments will be a significant advantage.

This is more than a career opportunity—it’s a chance to be an architect of change within the national security domain. If you’re driven to innovate, excel in complex environments, and leave a lasting impact on the future of air-ground integration, your next groundbreaking challenge awaits with Leidos.

As you consider this dynamic role, think about how this opportunity might transform your career. What new innovations can you bring to the established doctrines, and how might your leadership inspire a new era in joint operational excellence?
