Are you a tech-savvy student eager to gain real-world IT experience in a fast-paced telecommunications environment? Join our Information Technology team as a IT Support Intern in Plattekloof, where you'll work alongside experienced IT professionals to deliver quality IT support across the business.
This role is perfect for a motivated, detail-oriented student who is passionate about problem-solving, eager to learn, and ready to make a meaningful contribution to a dynamic IT service desk team.
What you'll do:
- Provide hands-on computer and printer support to business users
- Maintain antivirus software across all machines to ensure system security
- Perform backups of critical systems and assist with network maintenance
- Configure network devices and set up laptops and equipment
- Attend to all allocated tasks and tickets, prioritising based on urgency and impact
- Follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure successful completion and sign-off on the QContact system
- Accept and log technical support emails and calls received by the IT Department
- Support the Service Desk team with equipment deployment, software installations, inventory management and printer troubleshooting
What you'll need:
- Grade 12 (minimum)
- Currently studying towards an IT-related Diploma or Degree
- Experience in installing, configuring and setting up laptops and devices
- Strong computer and application skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and related tools)
- Advantageous: Technical certifications such as A+, N+, AZ-900 or AZ-104
- A high sense of integrity, accountability and commitment to quality work
- Strong work ethic with a collaborative, team-player mindset
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive approach to problem determination and resolution
- Keen attention to detail and a genuine willingness to learn
