The Japan DT&D Application developer (IT Business Partner) as the primary technology partner for Food Japan business stakeholders. This role is responsible for ensuring stable IT operations, managing country-specific applications, supporting business transformation initiatives, and driving alignment between business priorities and DT&D strategy.
The role acts as the bridge between business users, DT&D to deliver business value while ensuring compliance, security, and operational excellence.
The Senior Professional, Application Development job builds, maintains, integrates and implements software applications within the organization. With minimal supervision, this job performs complex software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Business Partnership
- Serve as the primary DT&D contact for Food Japan business stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders and functional teams.
- Represent DT&D in country leadership and drive alignment between business priorities and DT&D strategy.
- Translate business requirements into technology opportunities and solutions.
Application & Service Management
- Own and manage Japan-specific applications and related vendors.
- Maintain application roadmap, lifecycle, licensing, and support activities.
- Coordinate issue resolution and major incident escalation.
- Ensure services meet business expectations and support requirements.
Portfolio management & Project Delivery
- Support project prioritization, demand intake, and investment planning.
- Lead or coordinate small projects, application enhancements, and digital initiatives.
- Support ERP modernization, application transformation, and AI adoption initiatives.
Risk, Security & Compliance
- Support cybersecurity, resiliency, and compliance activities.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation, TPRA, audit, and security assessments.
- Ensure applications comply with corporate security and governance standards.
Financial & Vendor Management
- Manage local application budgets and support contracts.
- Track technology investments and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
MINIMUM & TYPICAL YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application management, business relationship management, project delivery, or IT consulting.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications and business processes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and regional teams.
- Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft platforms and AI solutions will be a big plus.
- Experience with application portfolio management and digital transformation programs.
- Understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, audit, and business resiliency processes.
