Overview
The Instructional Designer will be responsible for producing innovative, high-quality e-learning content in support of DSS's software products. This role requires the ability to independently oversee the full lifecycle of e-learning content production — from initial design conceptualization through finished deliverables, ensuring all materials meet professional standards and align with organizational objectives. The Instructional Designer will collaborate closely with DSS software Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to analyze and translate complex technical information into clear, accessible, and engaging end-user content tailored to our healthcare software clients. This position operates with minimal supervision from the Instructional Designer-Senior, requiring a self-motivated professional with strong project management skills, keen attention to detail, and a demonstrated ability to produce polished instructional materials in a fast-paced environment.
Local Candidate Only: This is a hybrid opportunity and must be able to work from the North Palm Beach, Florida office 3 days a week.

An Instructional Designer will
-
Apply a structured instructional design methodology (such as ADDIE) to analyze training needs, design learning solutions, develop content, support implementation, and evaluate effectiveness.

Develop professional e-learning content for internal audiences, including self-paced courses, narrated presentations, job aids, and assessments.

Develop and produce e-learning content for external clients, delivering professional, high-quality media that meets client requirements and industry standards.

Build and maintain course content using professional authoring tools including Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, PowerPoint, and Snagit, producing output that meets SCORM, HTML5, and 508 compliance standards as required.

Partner with subject matter experts across the organization to translate technical and operational content into clear, engaging learning experiences for target audiences.

Publish and administer courses in the Learning Management System (Paycom), including enrollment setup, content configuration, and reporting.

Support OT intake operations, including triaging training requests, coordinating vendor procurement activities, and maintaining OT documentation in Confluence and Jira.

Maintain instructional quality standards across all OT-produced content, submitting work for Director review and approval prior to production and publication.

Stay current with emerging trends in instructional design, e-learning technology, and AI tools, and actively apply them to improve the efficiency and quality of OT content.

Security and Privacy Responsibilities
Individuals working for DSS or any Subsidiary will be subject to security and privacy requirements as explained in HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53. Additionally, they are required to undergo specific FedRAMP training to ensure compliance with all associated controls and responsibilities in the day-to-day performance of their duties. Individuals working in departments that are considered to be in the high-risk category will be required to undergo advanced training based on their role and level of access. Individuals with access to modify data and the configuration baseline will require further training.

Compensation
The salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of DSS, Inc.’s total compensation package for employees.
