Multimedia Instructional Designer & Learning Specialist (On-site)
Job Summary
The multimedia instructional designer/learning specialist will work as part of the Priority1 Learning & Development team to develop and deliver learning content for Priority1, a third-party logistics broker.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Priority1 L&D team and key stakeholders to identify and prioritize the learning and development needs of the organization.
- Conduct needs assessments and identify learning objectives and the best modality for addressing learning needs.
- Utilize best practices and educational principles to design and develop learning content.
- Design learning content in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face instruction, blended and hybrid instruction, eLearning, job aides, guided learning, reference guides, etc.
- Utilize course authoring tools, including but not limited to Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia, Audacity, and Vyond.
- Write, edit, proof, and revise content that aligns to company and industry standards.
- Design reliable and valid learning assessments that align to course and program objectives.
- Utilize audio recording software to record and edit voiceovers for learning content.
- Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Think creatively and critically to define and develop learning solutions under short deadlines.
- Design learning that reflects an understanding of diverse learners.
- Upload and manage learning content in an LMS to ensure content remains complete, updated, and relevant.
- Conduct face-to-face, blended, and hybrid instruction.
- Act as a resource to other team members through the peer review process, providing timely, constructive feedback as necessary.
- Maintain documentation of the design process.
- Stay up to date on industry standards and emerging trends in adult learning theory, methods, tools, and software.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Agile, Kirkpatrick Model, etc.).
- Experience with learning development in multiple modalities, including instructor-led training (both synchronous and asynchronous) and eLearning.
- Strong proficiency with industry standard software, including but not limited to Articulate Storyline 360, Camtasia, Audacity, MS Suite.
- Proficiency with learning management systems, preferably Workday Learning.
- Knowledge of graphic design principles for course building.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Self-motivated problem solver.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

Writing Assessment Requirement
As part of the application process, candidates will be required to complete a writing assessment. This assessment will involve creating a sample instructional design document based on a provided scenario. The document should demonstrate the candidate’s ability to analyze learning needs, outline course objectives, and design engaging learning activities that showcase the candidate’s ability to write concisely and accurately.
Physical Requirements:
Job functions require long periods of sitting and working from computer workstation; ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize daily workload; excellent organization and record keeping skills; comfortable with oral and written communications, primarily on the telephone and email. Requires extended periods of sitting, normal walking, bending, twisting, and stretching. Capability of sight and hearing required. Ability to deal with stressful situations and occasionally working extended hours. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
