The Role

Join us as an Innovation Technology Lead, Director

  • We’re looking for someone with background in experimentation in next generation analysis, financial crime detection and technology engineering, with the ability to advise and guide on strategic roadmap and design, this is an excellent opportunity to join our business
  • You'll provide leadership, advice, and support to drive experimentation, ensuring projects align to our simplification strategy, promoting an innovation approach throughout
  • With valuable exposure, you’ll be building and leveraging relationships with colleagues across the bank, as well as bringing your industry insights and connections into the mix, to ensure commercially focused decisions are made, creating long term value for the bank
  • The role is offered at director level
What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll drive forward and role model best practices through engineering processes and Agile behaviour, while making sure team members follow suit. As well as this, you’ll maintain a perspective on the current and target innovation and partnerships technology ecosystem.

We’ll look to you to influence the development of business strategies at an organisational level, identifying transformational opportunities for Financial Crime associated with both new and existing technologies and analysis solutions.

In addition, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Identifying new and creative innovative solutions to solve business problems
  • Championing the use of the latest AI/ML/analytical & engineering methods, driving, and delivering value for customers and stakeholders
  • Consulting, leading and educating global technical, data and business teams to ensure consistent understanding.

  • Horizon scanning for emerging trends, bringing valuable insights and new ideas into the conversation, with the ability to articulate and present these clearly and concisely.

  • Seeking out and utilising continuous feedback, fostering adaptive design and engineering practices to drive the collaboration of programmes and teams around a common vision.

The skills you’ll need

You’ll have a minimum of 15 years’ experience across engineering, data science, financial crime or fraud innovation and analysis, and 7 years leadership experience in data, technology, or financial crime. To succeed in this role, you’ll need expert knowledge of new and emerging analytical and technical trends in financial crime detection & investigation, and at least one technical or financial crime qualification.

You’ll also need:

  • Experience of developing, syndicating, and communicating creative solutions, ideas, designs, and proposals for action
  • An understanding of industry analysis and detection techniques across data and computer science
  • Deep understanding of financial crime risk and compliance, including anti-money laundering (AML), fraud detection, and regulatory requirements including the evolution of detection and protection solutions.
  • Experience of working with business solution vendors, technology vendors and products within the market
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative mindset to develop innovative solutions and drive the adoption of new technologies in combating financial crime.
