We have an immediate opening for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist at our corporate headquarters in Coconut Grove, Florida. Payroll processing and benefits administration will be the primary focus of this role, but you will also participate in the wider Talent Experience efforts.

Job Description Summary
As we continue to improve our HRIS system and acquire new companies we need to add some support to our Talent Experience team.
Reporting to the Director of Talent Experience, the focus of this role will be payroll. You will also participate in benefits administration, on-boarding and off-boarding activities. This position requires duties such as bookkeeping, data entry as needed, and reconciliation of medical bills. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize your diversified workload. You will also be expected to recommend changes in practices or procedures which make us more customer focused and efficient.
In addition to your HR experience, the successful candidate must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, able to meet strict deadlines and possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This is an excellent opportunity to develop professionally with a great company and industry leader.
Essential Functions
Payroll/HRIS:
Work with the existing team to handle any overflow tasks which need to be accomplished. Examples are:
- Update information in ADP Vantage (our HRIS)
- Process bi‐weekly payroll for multiple pay groups.
- Assist in the maintenance of Vantage and personnel files.
- Track receipt of Performance Review documents make salary changes and file accordingly.
Onboarding/off-boarding:
Work with the existing team to make sure that the typical onboarding and offboarding paperwork is done correctly and company belongings are collected.
Benefits:
You may assist the Talent Experience and HRIS teams to:
- Educate new and existing employees on company's benefit programs including medical, life, disability, PTO, LOA, workers' compensation, and unemployment compensation.
- Track new hire eligibility and assist new employees with first time enrollments.
- Prepare material for annual open enrollment.
- Reconcile benefit invoices monthly and provide to accounting for timely payment.
- Perform monthly benefit and payroll reconciliations.
Administrative/Compliance:
Work with the Talent Experience team to make sure all compliance and administrative tasks are handled.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of successful HR experience, especially with processing payroll, in positions of growing responsibility
- Ability to communicate with and support Talent Experience functional teams at Watsco's business units and new acquisitions
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines
- Strong computer skills, especially Excel and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
- Flexibility -- things happen quickly here and sometimes priorities change
- Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred as you will be working with our LATAM and Caribbean companies
Skills Required
- 3+ years of successful HR experience, especially with processing payroll
- Experience processing bi-weekly payroll for multiple pay groups
- Experience with ADP Vantage or other HRIS platforms and HRIS maintenance
- Strong computer skills, especially Excel
