Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist – Associate provides administrative support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and staffing, personnel records, employee or labor relations, compensation, benefits, training and/or equal opportunity/affirmative action.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
- Process various confidential forms and records.
- Support a variety of employment/personnel activities.
- Maintain and distribute employee information, policy and procedure manuals and other communications.
- Under direct supervision provide administrative support to one or more functional areas of Human Resources.
- Assist with coordination of HR functional tasks activities within a business unit.
- Follow established guidelines in performing routine day-to-day tasks.
- Copy and distribute various reports and documentation.
- Compile and summarize responses to questionnaires, surveys or other information from assigned department.
- Input data in Human Resources Information System as directed by authorized persons.
- Create and maintain Human Resources files in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Position may be assigned to a specific targeted business area and may require additional or specific job duties related to assigned function which are not aforementioned.

Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite Software (i.e., Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems, i.e. Workday preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to operate office machines (ex: fax machine, copier, etc.).
Experience & Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Zero (0) to two (2) years of business experience preferable within human resources field.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
- Works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and lighting conditions.
- No travel required.
- Depending on assignment, personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree
- Zero to two years of business experience, preferably in human resources
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems, such as Workday
