As a Hostess, you’re not just helping prepare for dining and event service – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
ResponsibilitiesHere's what you'll do during a typical day:
- Welcome and warmly greet all guests upon arrival, creating a positive first impression.
- Manage the reception and seating of guests in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus while ensuring the dining area is properly presented.
- Manage table reservations, walk-ins, waiting lists, and seating arrangements effectively.
- Answer guest inquiries regarding menus, restaurant facilities, promotions, and operating hours.
- Coordinate closely with the Restaurant Manager, Service Team, Kitchen, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor table availability and ensure efficient rotation of tables during busy periods.
- Maintain accurate reservation records and communicate any special requests or VIP arrangements to the relevant team.
- Handle guest feedback, requests, and concerns professionally and escalate issues to the supervisor or manager when required.
- Ensure the entrance, hostess desk, waiting area, and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
- Assist with guest recognition and provide personalized service to repeat guests, VIPs, and special occasions.
- Support the service team during busy periods, including assisting with menus, beverages, and basic guest requirements where appropriate.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, promotions, facilities, and hotel services.
- Follow all hotel standards, brand standards, grooming requirements, health and safety procedures, and service guidelines.
- Maintain professional communication and positive relationships with guests and colleagues.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor.
