This Position reports to:
Business Communication ManagerIn this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business objectives through the development and deployment of innovative and effective marketing communications activities in line with global and local communication strategies, standards, and guidelines. Each day, you will be responsible for developing the marketing communication strategy and maintaining the positive image of the company and its brand and value proposition in the minds of the customers. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring relevant marketing communication strategy and plans align with global marketing, corporate, and country communications strategies and guidelines.

This role is contributing to the ABB Robotics in Bangalore, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Actively contribute to ABB Robotics India’s business strategy for profitable growth through innovative communications activities, serving as a trusted advisor to Robotics managers and ensuring alignment with global communications strategy.
- Translate strategy into targeted customer-focused communication plans and tactics including thought leadership, social media, digital content, trade shows, events, and product/solutions communication; create/localize positioning and content, develop calendars for events, media, and speaking opportunities, and build a reusable content bank in coordination with the Global Comms team.
- Develop social and traditional media relations strategy, coordinate media work with External Relations and Central Comms, and provide guidance on crises/issues in line with ABB’s operational model to minimize negative impact on the organization and brand.
- Lead internal communications including mandatory employee updates, GDPR compliance, and support leadership with presentations, speeches, Yammer/Intranet articles, and recognition programs; drive internal change communications to ensure business direction is clear and employees understand their role in success.
- Ensure executional excellence and accountability across all communications measures in line with ABB brand and corporate identity guidelines; manage budgets rigorously to maximize cost efficiency, minimize overlap, and ensure transparency; define KPIs, monitor ROI for BL-led communications, and foster a community of practice with Robotics Central Comms Management.
Qualifications for the role
- Minimum 10 years of related experience, preferably a mix of corporate and agency roles within the technology industry, with extensive media relations expertise.
- Proven experience working in a highly matrixed organization and coordinating effectively across geographies.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken), with strong analytical and writing skills to support keynote presentations, executive talking points, media briefings, and Q&A documents.
- Deep understanding of the impact of communications on organizational brand, with the ability to advise senior leadership and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to build and collaborate with formal and informal networks, fostering strong cross-functional and international partnerships with intercultural sensitivity.
- Strong business acumen and counseling skills, with the ability to develop a sophisticated understanding of the business, portfolio, trends, key decision makers/influencers, and success drivers.
- Proactive business partner with connectivity to central communications teams, contributing ideas to improve business performance and ensuring alignment across functions.
- Action-oriented, detail-focused, and results-driven, with the ability to take ownership of complex projects and deliver excellence; positive and passionate personality with a drive to challenge the status quo and continuously improve.
