Business: Treasury Transformation

Role Title: Business Analyst

  • Treasury Transformation is seeking an ambitious individual to support Group Finance Treasury Capital Management, Stress Testing and TRSC (Treasury Regulation Strategy and Control) sub value stream transformation initiatives into ‘Future State Architecture’.
  • Finance Treasury is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet across businesses interfacing with regulators and senior business stakeholders to ensure the bank remains liquid, well capitalised and profitable.
  • The Capital Management and Stress Testing (CMST) function supports the assessment of bank’s vulnerabilities and resilience through improved risk and capital management. This includes capital planning, forecasting, stress testing, capital efficiency, pensions strategy, capital adequacy and resilience processes.
  • TRSC function supports Treasury Regulation Strategy and Control activities including ‘Return on Tangible Equity’ (ROTE) and ‘Economic Profit’ (EP) analysis and forecasting.

The Opportunity:

  • This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work in a team that is responsible for transformation and change maintenance to various systems that support CMST and TRSC business processes.
  • Business Analysis is a position that is responsible for understanding and documenting business requirements to execute the solution, ensuring alignment between technical implementation and strategic business goals on time.
  • The role holder will be expected to work closely with the business to support requirement clarification, documentation and sign-off, prioritisation and contribute to overall delivery of change maintenance and transformation initiatives. The role holder will collaborate with Finance, Analytics and Digital Architecture (ADA), APEX and IT teams, data officers, process owners and data input owners to ensure that the risks inherent in every change or transformation initiative are identified and managed or mitigated through effective project controls.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver high quality, detailed business requirements, process design documentation, cost-benefit analysis, and clear choice estimations.
  • Adhere to project management methodologies and manage projects in accordance with Group Standards. They may be required to manage multiple projects involving interaction with several business areas.
  • Translating requirements into project plans that provides a clear link between the requirements team, the business process and testing teams to ensure consistency of approach, and efficient cross-workstream communication.
  • Ensure requirements coming from multiple areas are aligned and conflicts are resolved effectively by engaging and supporting additional stakeholders who may need to contribute to the overall project deliverables.
  • Undertaking data analysis tasks to establish reasons for data and process gaps, help with data and outputs reconciliation and regression testing and analysis.
  • Participate in preparation and execution of user training.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business analyst communities within Finance Transformation.
  • Adopt new ways of working such as Agile, particularly in respect of change activities, and encourage the adoption of innovation within the teams.

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Banking and Finance or equivalent business experience in a related field.
  • Should have minimum 8 years combined experience in project management and business analysis in banking and finance. Experience in Treasury, Capital Management, Stress Testing, Management Actions Calculations is desirable.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle and methodologies. Agile experience is desirable.
  • Strong Business Analysis and Testing experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical and/or non-technical projects.
  • Strong facilitation and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, written & verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with staff that includes the highest levels of management.
  • Experience of working with colleagues cross-border in a multinational organization is desirable.
  • Data management and analysis skill set is desirable.
