Role Description: Hardware Operations Engineer – VA(Hybrid).
Role Purpose:
Wasabi is looking for a Hardware Operations Engineer to help support and maintain our growing global server fleet of nearly 9,000 servers. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping our 24x7x365 production environment running smoothly. You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, review logs and alerts, help restore service when problems happen, and support the setup and testing of servers, storage, and network hardware. You will also help improve the way we manage hardware by building better processes and using automation where it makes sense.
You will work closely with the Hardware Operations, DevOps, and other technical teams to solve problems and support day-to-day operations. This role requires someone who can stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and work well with others across the company and with outside partners. You will also help evaluate new hardware, run diagnostics, support software deployments, and look for ways to improve reliability as Wasabi continues to grow.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware issues (servers, storage, networking, cabling, power) in a live production data center.
- Write scripts (Python) to automate repetitive fixes, run diagnostics at scale, and speed up ticket resolution.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (DevOps, supply chain, vendors) to keep spares stocked and hardware operations running smoothly.
- Help build dashboards and reporting tools to track hardware health and team workflow.
- Be available for on-call/off-hours support and travel to data center sites.
Requirements:
- Solid 7+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting server, storage, or network hardware in a large-scale data center.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Python comfortable writing scripts to automate hardware tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly to different audiences.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic startup environment where priorities shift fast.
- A team-first attitude this role is collaborative, not siloed, and works across multiple teams daily.
Compensation:
Base Salary – $80,000 - 105,000
The base salary range reflects the full range for this position at Wasabi Technologies. At Wasabi, we believe in paying fairly and competitively, and individual compensation is determined based on factors such as job-related experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Base pay is just one part of our total rewards approach. Depending on role eligibility, Wasabi team members may also receive additional compensation and benefits, including bonus or variable compensation, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both professional growth and personal well-being.
