Job Description
As Global Category Lead you have an excellent opportunity to integrate a team of Global Procurement professionals with a senior role operating in a complex, multi-stakeholder and cross-functional environment to leverage scale, building best in class partnerships with key suppliers delivering the best cost, cash, quality, service and innovation to Kraft Heinz Business units.
This role will be accountable for building Global category and sourcing strategies for selective sub-categories in Glass, with a total portfolio of about ~$200m spend, to meet the business needs globally and securing a competitive advantage for Kraft Heinz.
The role demands strong leadership to drive step change, improving supplier performance and innovation, think out of the box with appropriate support from our partner community to enable success. You will also lead the Global Value engineering agenda of your Packaging Categories and support our ESG commitments towards net zero greenhouse gas.
This role will closely partner with the Regions to implement strategies, share best practices and ensure benefit realization. Get ready for a lot of exposure to internal senior partners!
What's on the Menu?

  • Accountable for developing procurement world class Global Category, sourcing and supplier relationship strategies to achieve competitive advantage and value improvements consistent with the enterprise strategy.
  • Display leadership behaviours aligned to Kraft Heinz values to drive a culture of "Consumer obsessed, do better every day, own it and do the right thing" across the global organization.
  • Build close partnerships and alignment across all zones where your categories are consumed.
  • Accountable for delivering the Procurement fundamentals across the area of responsibility e.g. Budgeting, contracting, risk mitigation, etc.
  • Deliver a robust market intelligence by using forecast cost assessment, and act as the global expert for your category within Kraft Heinz.
  • Responsible for developing the financial plan in your category (Best value for money).
  • Build a pipeline of Global Packaging Value Engineering projects that deliver the targets set by the business.
  • Develop and embed processes and Ways of Working as per the new Procurement collaboration model.

  • Masters degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or equivalent by experience.
  • 6+ years of credible experience as a recognised Global Procurement leader with experience gained in Large BlueChip or FMCG Environment
  • Packaging Procurement Experience is required, ideally knowledge of the supply chain for different types of Packaging.
  • Highly developed business and commercial acumen with demonstrated success in delivering a competitive commercial advantage. Successful multi-year track record in delivering year on year savings in a challenging economic climate.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations
  • Expertise in delivering change programmes to switch supply base to achieve lower cost whilst retaining secure supply in highly matrix and decentralised environments
  • Project and change management experience with strong leadership
  • High energy, enthusiastic and results driven with strong business acumen.
  • Resilient and persistent with the ability to make the right decisions.
  • Develop and present persuasive arguments to deliver change and influence stakeholders.
  • Creative, conceptual thinker, exceptional problem solving/analytical skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a matrix environment and with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
